It’s always a sign of high intelligence and learning to have a sense of humor about one’s own lack of knowledge.
I was privileged to grow up around some pretty heavy academics in theoretical physics and propulsion science and I often think about how their “attitudes” about science and knowledge were so different from those we deal with today.
i.e., never once as a boy did I hear the words “THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED!”
Hopkins is smart enough to know how little he knows, but proud enough to separate himself from the pack.
Gotta love it.
Whether his views on politics are left or right he is probably pretty intelligent about it. But he knows it’s not his bailiwick and doesn’t want to let his fame make him appear to be an expert on something he’s not expert in.
Much respect for that.
Ask him about acting and movie making. His thoughts about that would be worth hearing.
