The December 6, 2019, Naval Air Station Pensacola attack reminded us once more that gun-free policies on military installations make U.S. troops sitting ducks.
Breitbart News reported that a gunman opened fire Friday morning in Pensacola, killing three innocents and causing numerous others to be transported to the hospital for injuries.
The Associated Press reported that the Pensacola gunman was an aviation student from Saudi Arabia, and NBC News reported that the gunman’s name was Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani.
He used a handgun to carry out his attack.
Pertinent to news of this horrific firearm-based attack is the fact that Naval Air Station Pensacola is a gun-free zone.
Breitbart News reported the air station’s gun-free status shortly after the attack. The station’s firearm policy, as described by Commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic, notes:
While federal and state laws differ widely on the subject, regulations pertaining to the registration, transportation, and storage of firearms on Naval Installations in the Mid-Atlantic area of responsibility are clear. According to the instruction, all hands share responsibility for adhering to regulations pertaining to the registration, transportation, and storage of firearms in the AOR.

In other words, men and women who have signed up for years of service to use advanced weaponry–including fully automatic weapons, guided missiles, drones with precision striking capability, and numerous other mechanisms–are forbidden from carrying a handgun on the station for self-defense.

It wasn’t gun free. A fanatical jihadi muzz had a gun. I told you the left wants to take guns from the good guys and let the bad guys hold on to theirs.
The really frustrating and anguishing part of this is that it’s so easy to resolve.

not sure how i feel about it- on the one hand- the liberals have saturated our military with muslims, gays, trans people, people with mental issues- etc- so allowing arms seems like a recipe for disaster- on the other, like the article says, the folks in the military are very vulnerable to such an issue or internal terrorism like what happened-
The military used to be an organization where true patriotic men and women went to serve their country- now however, it’s a place where SOME people go to have the military serve them, ie get education, learn a trade, etc- and they aren’t necessarily the most patriotic people around- many are hard core liberals who just couldn’t find work in civilian life- Some now are actually Anti-American and vocal about it- I mean look at folks like john Kerry- there were a lot like him- and now we have loads of muslims i n the military- loads of angry gay people- who have ‘fundamentally changed’ the military- Anti-Christian people who have almost entirely kicked God out of the military-
The military today aint what it used to be- thats’ for sure- It’s still a very noble profusion, and many many truly awesome people in it- but sadly it is changing for the worse-
How about Middle Easterners don’t get to come here? Why is that impossible? Why is what the American people want simply not even on the table? This isn’t a failing of the Saudis, it’s not really even about carrying on a military base, it’s about our “leaders” being bought off. They don’t get to come here. Period.

We send our armed forces to foreign lands to secure our freedoms and then they get mowed down here by ‘allies’ and dissidents who hate this country openly and are not afraid to take advantage of it anytime they can. Go figure.

I though President Trump had fixed that long ago? It’s the dumbest idea imaginable. The basic tool of all military personnel is a gun. For God’s sake, everyone trains with a gun. In combat, you sleep with your gun. What is there to say, but gun free military bases are the pinnacle of insanity. Political correctness run amuck.
