Hehehe - the English language is grande!
When I'm out prospecting or berry picking, I want to know an aggressive bear will be more than kissed by my "discouraging actions". The penetration seems to be more important than the calibre of the projectile.
A 1911 sure beats bear spray.....
It may require you to have gmail.
I am not certain about that.
Yes, having a good weapon is most important. Some of the higher priced ones are good choices!
But for the many who are good to go as decent, level headed people and lacking the money for very expensive firearms for concealed carry along with training, insurance, holsters, etc., there are some great ones for far less money, from a little less than $200 to $300 for 9mm. The competition between producers is intense now. Granted, a pistol that fits one person might not fit another as well.
Other cheap pistols are real stinkers for various reasons (trigger too close to front of trigger guard, etc.). As for Glock, “she’s too fat for me.” ;) Great duty weapon for those who need to open carry, though. Barrel’s easy to clean with that funky rifling. Oh...and it is a foreign company.
Old fashioned pistols for more money are pretty neat, though. I like the look and feel of some of the higher priced ones. Great quality control in production, too.
Negative for lower priced good pistols: plastic. Positive: some of them are lighter. Reliability: about the same as anything else. Some need a little breaking in. Others don’t. Some are made in the U.S.A. The more recent models are better than older ones in at least some.
I’m more technically inclined and tend to be skeptical about many of the reviews in videos and the like. Sometimes, the competition isn’t very honest, and there are the kooky fanboys.
Putting their money where it counts.
I like this couple have stayed in a Motel 6 because it was the only place I could find.
I never will again. You are better off sleeping in your car at a rest stop.
Recent production Kimbers are known (and can be demonstrated) to have QC issues. FTF with a full mag has been demonstrated by multiple YouTube videos.
In my own apocryphal experience, I haven’t seen a single Kimber bought by anyone in my circle of friends and acquaintances in the past five years that worked out of the box without the intervention of a gunsmith or being returned to the factory.
