They set out to do this, it wasn’t a coincidence.

Yes, the gloating was childish, and came from a typical political insider. 3rd Party people are often that way. Not constructive, usually ideological and holier-than-thou because they don't go with the establishment.

But how do you organize 22,000-25,000 people, all who would supposedly vote for Bevin, to switch votes because a Libertarian party ideologue wants to poke the establishment in the eye? You don't, because it's impossible. My original point still stands - there is no way to know if these people only came out to vote Libertarian, or how many independents or Democrats voted as well.

As a lifelong KY Cats fan, I have to say that I can barely stomach watching KY play over the last few years. I turn on the tv last night, and I recognize like 2 players. It used to be (Tubby Smith, Pitino, Joe B. Hall, Adolph Rupp) that you got to know the players over 4 years, could watch them grow, learned about their families and backgrounds, etc. They were clean-cut kids, well-behaved on the court, etc. Guys like Goose Givens, Kyle Macy, Sam Bowie, Jeff Sheppard, etc. Now its like watching a poor man’s NBA. I’ll watch in March and occasionally during the season, but right now I could take it or leave it.

” Matt Bevin was very unpopular for a number of reasons. He never fit the state well (Connecticut Yankee dressed in Armani suits in a Southern state).”

Yes, he wasn’t a Kentuckian and they held that against him however the ONE thing that really got him in trouble was when he made Kentucky a “right to work” state. The conservatives and republicans, like the dims, are extremely protective of their unions. This stems from extensive unionization of the coal fields decades ago and the union mentality never went away. Enter the teachers unions. When Bevin fixed their pension system I was surprised with their response. It should have been, Thank you for finally fixing what dims have endangered. Suddenly it was Bevin HATES teachers and Bevin hates your children and we’re off to the races. And the state media fanned the flames even higher.

Yes, oddly enough even though we’re a red state the vast majority of governors have been democrat with an odd republican here and there. My Papa’s KY Colonel certificate is signed by Republican Gov. Happy Chandler who was also the Baseball Commissioner.

I love the Wildcats. My Uncle Pete played on the 54’ undefeated squad that declined the NCAA Tourney. And I pine for Kaywood Ledford’s smooth baritone calling the games, but I will always watch the Cats when I can.

The Borg? Might as well be.

They already run the Democrat Party.

That’s where an effective election campaign can influence libertarian voters through targeted ads.

Junior is pretty much the only Democrat in state office in KY that has any power. The Republicans control the other major state offices and the legislature is deep Red.

If the legislature holds its ground Jr. gets little of his communist crapola passed—if they hold their ground. I suspect that Jr. is going to push two things to fund his beloved educators and state pensions, medical weed and legalized gambling. One might pass the other will not.

If I were Cameron I would fire everyone in the AG office and put my legal foot up Jr’s ass everyday of the week and twice on Sundays, a little payback.

Getting a Right to Work law passed may have hurt him and the state short term, but in the long run it put KY back into competition for big companies to come to the state. In the past other southern states ignored any attempt by KY to recruit a company because the union garbage they knew the company would have to deal with and thus ignore KY. Where unions are concerned KY is assbackward stupid still.

but it does indicate that we need to pursue different venues and not just accept that the media is corrupt.

Anyone know the final vote tally on this governorship race (to be challenged or not)?

Last night I had to watch the two commie cable channels to get the incoming results. Fox ran Tucker, Hannity and Laura without any break-in for even minimum ongoing results in Kentucky.

I was really ticked, grrr!

Let's not pretend a defeat is a win

The Powers That Be either don't get the message or would rather lose elections than heed it. Republicans are not going to win, there won't even be a Republican Party remaining, if they don't embrace the Deplorable Agenda.

They're too arrogant to get it and/or care. If we give up on them, the Socialists are taking over. It's not us little folk who will have our wealth stripped away if that happens.

Probably not for those of us in our 70s (and older). They'll put the failed monetary system on life support for awhile with Modern Monetary Theory. That's the theory that money doesn't need any backing; just keep digitalizing the stuff to meet financial needs.

What is more likely to take the nation into the Dark Ages is if catastrophes get worse than the nation can handle. It could either be natural or something like the grid going down.
