Corporations don’t pay taxes. They pass them through to their customers.
Its interesting that he created that limitation and now he wants to leave New York for Florida, where he wont pay state and local taxes, said Martin Shenkman, an estate planning attorney in Fort Lee, New Jersey.
One would think that a Jewish estate planning attorney would be supportive of his move and instead, appears to be criticizing Trump............But then again, he's a Jersey Jew.......
wow!
well, he has since broadcast occasionally from his NY studio so he’s not too worried about that
i believe the law is over 6 months?
best,
fhc
what would be SO funny would be to see NY or NYC try to harass PDJT to pay NY or NYC income taxes (the city has its OWN income tax, can you imagine that?!) ... after both the governor and mayor have insulted him and governor Cuomo has publicly actually said “good riddance to Trump!”
it would show, once again, just what greedy hypocrites today’s communistic Democratic politicos really are
The left makes my blood boil as much as the damn British did to our Founders.
“Maybe. But if they do contest it, this could become the most expensive tweet in New York history: “
The judge, who decides the outcome, is unlikely to accept an off the cuff politically motivated comment as evidence. The state will argue that the Governor does not know the facts of the case. Also, the judge is paid by the taxes collected and that tax collection is dwindling at a huge rate. Likely, the judge will also be a Democrat.
On the good side, Trump will force the state to spend at least as much prosecuting the case as they take from him. If I was Trump, I would sell my holdings in New York as soon as possible.
A friend at work, who had never been to California, was sued by California for non-payment of taxes. When he protested the office he spoke to told him, “Look, you can go to court but you will spend three times more in lawyers fees than just paying the tax.” I don’t know how this worked out as I left that company. The point is, tax people really don’t give a damn if what they are doing is fair, ethical or, even illegal. They just want the money. They are like the tax collector in Haggar the Horrible, he wore a black hood and carried an ax.
Good thinking. They’ll try anything.
Yep, they’re real bastards.
NY State thinks it’s East Germany where they can keep people from leaving.
Re: The greatness of Mario the Pius? I too remember him well, and cannot argue with the immortal catchphrase of (the late, great) Bob Grant: Mario, assenza me! Tu sei profano sfaccim!”
And beyond that, it seems that the Cuomo apples (offspring) did not fall far from the tree. The signs that Frodo and his bro’ posted all over Queens (when Mario was running against Crazy Eddie in that long forgotten primary election) come to mind. And beyond his wonderful performance as guv of NY, Andrew’s role as Billy Jeff’s HUD secretary, helping create the massive liar loan program that destabilized the economy and led to the 2007 recession, should not be swept under the rug.
A fine bunch, those Cuomo’s.
They tried to do that to retired military. They got shot down.
At least until those 30-million votes by illegal aliens are counted in the 2020 elections...
Corporations pay salaries. Salaries are taxed in the state where they are paid.
“New York will dog him For taxes for a decade ...”
Exactly what NY did to Rush.
I guess you could call it "interesting". What it is is the law working as its designed to work. Lowering federal taxes, while encouraging states and cities to do the same. If states and cities would rather not, that's fine, but they should expect wealthier people to move to friendlier tax climes.
Stop feeding the beast and it's little beastlets.
Only half.
The other half is in the state where you live.
Huh?
As if people aren’t free to live where they choose?
Huh???
LOL! That said I think they are contemplating an exit penalty because so many high earners are leaving.
And he still has to pay NY state taxes on anything he earns in NY through his businesses there.
The other half is in the state where you live.
Varies by state. I think Missouri takes a bit less than half. Regardless, New York will continue to tax Trump so long as he does business there and gets paid there.
They're sure to hassle him...but he's got good lawyers and accountants. Bottom line is that after paying those accountants and lawyers he's likely to save much $$$. Fixed it.
Rush has talked about this (Rush moving from NY to Florida) when your in this income bracket, it pays to move, hell they {N.Y. State Auditor's} hassled Rush for 12 year's with audit's.
But I'm not an accountant so I will defer to your answer.
