How pressure to impeach Trump is created by fake news polls
Life Site News ^ | October 25, 2019 | Robert Hutchinson

In leftist professor Noam Chomsky and Edward S. Herman’s classic analysis of the mass media, Manufacturing Consent, the main thesis is that “the ‘societal purpose’ of the media is to inculcate and defend the economic, social and political agenda of privileged groups that dominate the domestic society and the state.”

The ways the media inculcate the “political agenda of privileged groups,” according to Chomsky and Herman, are numerous.

They include the “selection of topics,” “framing of issues,” “filtering of information,” “emphasis and tone,” and, most of all, “by keeping debate within the bounds of acceptable premises.”

But the latest tool used by corporate media to “manufacture consent” is the fake news poll.

Volumes have already been written attempting to explain how and why so many “legitimate” polling organizations, hired by corporate media companies, were so obviously wrong about the results of the 2016 election.

The New York Times poll said Clinton had an 85 percent chance of winning, Reuters/Ipsos States of the Nation said 90 percent, and ABC News said 95 percent.

The response of the media and the Democrats to this painful reality has been to pretend it never happened – and once again to point to corporate-paid polls to show that Trump is doomed.

Agree with the conten of the article, polls are merely false attempts to drive opinions of those who want to be on the “winning” side supposedly yet looking at the pre election “results” about Hillary killing it they were convinced the sheep were readily grazing on their words

Did not happen

Round 2 trying the same stupid model and teeing up the MSM talking heads

They are all on the team

What could be easier, or cheaper?

Just make up some numbers that prove what you want to say and publish it as a “poll”. There’s no rules, nothing to say you have to be honest or accurate or even actually poll anyone. But the suckers fall for it every time!

It’s kinda like starting your own religion. Ordain yourself with some fancy title, get your non-profit status so it looks and actually IS legit, and start pontificating. Who’s to say you’re wrong or any less credible than any other “church”? If someone believes you that’s all that matters.

Chomsky’s stuff is good. I like reading it because it makes me think in ways I might not otherwise.

His analysis is always interesting. His plan of actions? Straight statist for the radical left.

The New York Times poll said Clinton had an 85 percent chance of winning, Reuters/Ipsos States of the Nation said 90 percent, and ABC News said 95 percent.

I didn’t believe those polls then and I don’t believe these polls now.

I didn’t believe then because everywhere Trump went on the campaign trail he drew huge crowds that overflowed any venue he was at while Hilary when she actually had an event had empty seats.

Trump still draws overflow crowds everywhere he goes.

The evidence of my eyes tells me these polls are rigged.

Yeah they can all go #### themselves.

With each passing day I get closer to having nothing to lose as do many of us.

Rather go out with a bang at 51 than linger in a socialist dump till 90.

Besides, I JUST CANT TAKE people telling me how to live my life.

the “new” government just wouldn’t be me.

The most recent CNN poll that was touted as showing 50% of Americans supporting impeachment is a perfect example of stuffing Democrats into the Independent sample to skew the results, while keeping the D/R ratio reasonable (D+4 in CNN's case).

The New York Times poll said Clinton had an 85 percent chance of winning, Reuters/Ipsos States of the Nation said 90 percent, and ABC News said 95 percent.

And now they are coming up with polls that say most folks think the President should/will be impeached and removed....history does repeat itself...

If it was REALLY true that a majority of voters want the president impeached and removed, then why are the Dems holding secret witch trials in a dungeon and not allowing the public to even read a transcript of the testimony? If the Dems REALLY had evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors, they would be broadcasting the hearings on PRIME TIME tv.

Oh yeah, they have their polls -- their INTERNAL polls that aren't fudged. They know exactly what the American people really think about this fiasco. It's not working. But they have to have something to point to as a distraction when Barr brings down the hammer on the real criminals.
