Well, I would have an argument with ‘for comfort all the time’; and I’ve never seen a ‘no-run’ pair.

But this thread inspired me to actually buy a pair of L’eggs today, to see if they’ve improved in either category.

And don’t get me started on strapless bras, which the lady in your ad seems to be wearing. Those things have required new engineering for decades. The long-line ones are the only ones that ever have worked for me.

(My husband saw me writing on this thread, and he said “the problem with women’s clothes today is that they leave nothing to the imagination - and imagination is the most fun part of looking at girls”...)

Agreed with your husband. What also bothers me that good bit these days is this peculiar double standard seemingly very common. Ones like Lena Dunham can openly talk about or even expose their privates but Princess Kate was the target of snide comments and remarks from these same sorts of people for wearing pantyhose as much as she did when she first came to North America.

And you can imagine if Leggs or Hanes or Burlington were to bring back the women’s hosiery ads that were commonplace on TV back when I was growing up (1970s and ‘80s), you’d hear the same people up in arms about how sexist those ads are, etc. The ads that featured ones like Juliet Prowse (RIP), Barbara Eden, Joyce DeWitt, and others just simply featured attractive and confident women and nothing sexist or exploitative. Hoping I am not being odd or silly or strange with discussing these sorts of things.
