My wife convinced me to go to the Casino to hit the slot machines in order to see if we could earn the money back for a dinner we just had. I derided that idea as ridiculous but we still went to the casino. As it turned out, my wife was right. We earned back the money for dinner... and then some.
You can see how the slot machine paid up three separate times in this video. If you don't want to hear my spiel then just fast forward to the parts with the slot spins.
This is a surprise you that you get your meal paid for by first visiting the slots?
No. If you listened to my spiel, we went to the slots AFTER we had the meal.
Before, after, same thing. You got your meal paid by wins on the slots. I guess I’m just saying that is pretty much the way it is done. I don’t get the big revelation. Not trying to be rude and congrats on your win. They are always fun to get.
You can also get free rooms, free shows btw.
They seem to be having problems with their future Grand Opening date.
We go to the casino about once every three months or so with the expectation of blowing a few hundred and just having a good time. But we have a pact that if we do win a decent jackpot, we immediately blow it on a nice dinner for ourselves. That happens about every third trip.
Once in a great while, we win a really big jackpot (over $500) and we have a really NICE dinner and take the rest of it home with us.
We basically stick to the penny, nickel and quarter slots and do max bet every spin. That's the only way to get the more decent payouts.
No “revelation.” As I stated in the video, about a year ago my wife got a traffic ticket for about $150 so she went to the casino against my advice to win that amount to cover that cost. Much to my surprise, she won that back plus about $300 more. This time the goal was more modest. To win back the cost of our dinner.
We did it in reverse. First we had our dinner, then we went to the casino to try to win back the cost of dinner.
Fascinating.
Great that other people paid for your dinner.
If i ever will a large lottery jackpot one thing i will buy is a piece of a casino. That’s the only way the average person could win there over the long run.
Agreed. Its not the one win, its the total standing. Hey, this amuses some people, their money. I briefly worked in the industry; only way way to win is own the machine.
Do the same in Vegas and you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for some of the best food ever - anywhere up and down the strip! And you get to take the remainder home with you (the money not the food) or unless you feel lucky, return to the casino and bet it all!
Look at the first comment on youtube. I wonder how many DUers report this to the IRS as “potential tax evasion”?
I meet my friends once a month at Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY. It’s only about 20 minutes from my house, and it’s the only time I ever go there. We enjoy a nice leisurely meal at the buffet, then play the penny slots. I only take $100 with me when I go, and when it’s gone, it’s gone. I rarely win, or bring any of my money home with me, but this past Thursday, I hit a good bonus spin that gave me multiple 5-of-a-kinds within the one spin. I ended up with $180 after all my free spins ended. I had only used part of one $20 bill I had put into the machine. I played the rest of the afternoon, and ended up being able to bring home my original $100, plus an additional $100. It doesn’t happen very often, but it came at a good time because I’m heading out to visit my youngest son in Indiana in about a week, and that extra money will come in handy.
We had a deal hear at one of the Seminole casinos for $6.99 all you can eat prime rib dinner. It was really good but then they raised it to $9.99 and ultimately they got rid of it altogether. But the good news is that I can eat super cheap at Rubio’s near the Coconut Creek Casino for half price due to my heavily discounted gift cards.
Since I only go once a month, I get one 15$ free-play each week, and a $10 food discount once a month. It’s more than enough for me for the one time I go. We take turns buying lunch, and after I used my $10 discount, and my friend’s husband used his $10 discount, it only cost me a little over $11 for the three of us to eat. I’ve never been a big gambler, and rarely go over 20-25 cents on my spins. I won the $180 dollars this past Thursday on a 24 cent bet. It doesn’t happen very often, but when it does, it’s nice to get back a little of what I’ve lost in previous months.
“I hope to have a video of the opening of the Guitar Hotel at the Hollywood Hard Rock Casino.”
They would rather wreck the place.

Um, PJ, you wouldn’t have some numbers running around your head like the lottery numbers?
