Just been informed the power is off in the Bay Area(Ca). Is this a 3rd world country? Is the power company(PGE) trying to avoid another entire town burning down again? Unacceptable. Make it political. This is the richest country in the world. No excuses.

I totally get it. I lived through a couple of CA fires. But I just wish PG&E and State officials did preventative clearings and equipment upgrades to minimize these disruptions instead of just flipping off the power in advance of windy conditions.

Pedernales Electric in Texas turned the power off to a wide area a few years ago. Problem was when they turned it back on, many transformers blew and sent up sparks and fire. Yeah, that’ll work real well on the tender box that is CA.
