The United States might seem divided over President Donald Trump's policies, but overseas, the American president is loved.

According to the data from the Pew Research Centre, Nigerians' confidence in Trump to do the right thing regarding world affairs was at 59 percent in 2018, higher than some points during the Obama administration.

Also, Nigerians are in top five of those actively following Trump on Twitter, a social media platform constantly used by the president, Monti Datta, associate professor of political science from the University of Richmond, claimed.

The last time I was in Ireland, about half the people had positive things to say about Trump whenever he came up.

Every single person I spoke to about him thought ours and Europe's news coverage of him was insanely skewed - idiotic and over the top.

"He won the election, let him run the fecking place!" was the general consensus.

I’ve known some Nigerians in this country and have been impressed. They are reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking. And, as the article indicates, they also lean right. Whether this tendency will last more than a generation is an open question though.

PS - I don’t doubt there are crooks among them, but you can have stupid crooks and smart, innovative ones.

There is a good sized Nigerian community here in Houston, with a lot of educated professionals. They tend to be quite conservative here. The mothers would give the Asian “tiger moms” some goo competition- no ghetto mentality allowed.

He isn't loved in Europe.

Proof positive that Trump is good for America. Whatever the Yurps want, any American should want the opposite.
