Holder cautions against potentially prosecuting Trump post presidency

Former Attorney General Eric Holder predicted President Donald Trump may be prosecuted after his presidency if he doesn't first face impeachment proceedings while in office -- but warned of the possible risks to the nation.

The Obama-era attorney general's comments come as impeachment advocates hailed Thursday's Judiciary Committee's vote to formalize the rules of its investigation, though House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has avoided labeling the committee's probe as an impeachment inquiry.

CNN "Axe Files" host David Axelrod asked Holder whether he thought Trump is subject to prosecution upon leaving office, Holder replied, "Well, I don't think there's any question about that."

Holder referenced former Trump attorney Michael Cohen's guilty plea last year to campaign finance violations tied to hush money payments he made or orchestrated on behalf of Trump.

This is rich.

Asking Holder if someone should be prosecuted for crimes is like asking me if someone should be forced to go on a diet

He is projecting fear that Obama and everyone, including himself, could be prosecuted for the crimes they committed.

Holder and his former boss, Zero, would be wise to shut up and stay out of the spotlight because their turn is coming when the Zero Administration’s corruption is fully exposed, e.g., Fast & Furious, IRS, NSA, DOJ, State Dept, CIA, Benghazi, Iran nuclear deal as in where did all the $$ go, and misc other corruption.

Or the Dems have got a good idea that their GOP Uniparty pals are just fine with the idea of hounding POTUS once he out of office. The GOP certainly never lifted a finger to stop Mueller and his police state tactics. Why do you think it would be any different once Trump is out of office?

Did someone find this man’s integrity somehow?? And did this someone try to sell it back to him.

Maybe he sees what a rat’s nest Justice was when he was there. And, maybe, looking at it from the outside gave him a better perspective.

OR MAYBE, HE’S GETTING SCARED ABOUT SOME ISSUES BEING EXPOSED.

Given our legal system (where even an honest, law-abiding citizen could be charged with three felonies a day) and the infestation of the courts with liberal activists, they could potentially prosecute Trump after he leaves office.

But the charges would all involve questionable stretching of obscure or ambiguous laws. So Cohen paid hush money? Trump has never admitted having had sex with the women involved, but at the time even a totally bogus allegation could have been fatal (in the aftermath of Jeb's cousin recording of Trump's "locker room talk" being made public). And to say that was a "campaign finance violation" is a stretch. The whole "emoluments" thing is nonsense.

The Democrats could very well try to pursue that route. But no former President has been prosecuted (although a few arguably deserved to be) and I doubt the country as a whole would look kindly on the spectacle of Trump being prosecuted on such flimsy pretexts. It would hurt the Democrats in the next election...hence Holder's misgivings.

Holder should have been prosecuted for running guns to Mexican cartels in an effort to undermine support for the second amendment.
Of course, he was appointed by an ineligible usurper.

As I said about impeachment on another thread, there’d be two million Trump supporters roaming the halls of congress, half of them armed to the teeth.

I think they do know what kind of fires they are dealing with, hence their fearlessness.

Not enough red lines have been trampled?

Holder has not had an epiphany, not seen the light, and certainly has not gotten religion.

He is a man that belongs in Leavenworth for 20 years. Never gonna happen though.

The Dems and their compliant media excel at projectionism. They have been doing it successfully for the past 40 years.

Feeling scared Holder? You’re against prosecuting a former President for crimes he committed while in office?

I wonder why Holder might be concerned about that? Trying to go on record ahead of any charges against his former boss? If that happens, Holder can be sure he will also be facing justice.

I Forget :

Was Holder in office when Hillary was committing treason ?

WHAT DID HOLDER KNOW AND WHEN DID HE KNOW IT ( AND DITTO FOR OBAMAS COVERUP OF HILLARY CLINTONS TREASON(S) )

Maybe Holder better be more concerned about his own self being prosecuted ?

The year will be 2025, and Mr Trump will be Bernie’s age. Plus we don’t prosecute ex presidents, because we don’t.
