Firefox VPN extension free during beta trial
Firefox ^ | 14 September, 2019

If a Wi-Fi connection is free and open to you, it’s also free and open to hackers. Firefox Private Network is a desktop extension that helps secure and protect your connection everywhere you use Firefox. Try it free during our beta trial.

I also loaded the EFF Privacy Badger extension and found 112 beacons on the DailyMail Home page. I listed them below.

Same here. DuckDuckGo for search engine, Proton for email.

Ghostery is what I’m using...amazing how many items are blocked from the Daily Mail homepage.

If I were dicatator I would ban web beacons, assign the NSA to identify every web site guilty of them, and shut down the web sites.

Daily Mail is a tracking and advertisement wasteland. Thank goodness for Ghostery and Ad Block Plus. That site would be almost unusable without these tools.

I have a Magellan GPS for my vehicle and it will only update with Chrome so I installed Brave and was able to update no problem, then I saw that the Brave icon was now on all my pictures, so I uninstalled Brave. I am not sure why that happened, but easy to say I do not trust the software!

Daily Mail is wife’s fav site. I explained beacons to her, ho hum. But when I mentioned this is how the purse she was looking at in Amazon shows up in QVC, she suddenly understood. She hates that. Got all her sites set up in the “favorites” ...she likes to watch how many times the little ghost blocks things. I wish you could order and rename the favorites, but all else is simple and super.

“DuckDuckGo for search engine, Proton for email.”

Ditto and ditto. Thinking of moving from PIA to proton VPN. Sadly, Swiss-based may become necessary in the not too distant future. That will give you privacy until VPNs are banned entirely, or you need a note from your employer to use one. It’s for the children, you know.
