There we go, and suburbs would be the best places for nuclear power plants, especially HOA neighborhoods. Homer Simpson wouldn’t need to commute to the ghetto to get to work.

Coal fired steam is the only way to go! Besides, we’d get to wear those cool goggles and leather overcoats, boots and gloves.

It works, it’s clean, it can supply abundant energy.

That’s why the left hates it.

They did, until it became a real possibility that nuclear could solve our energy needs. Then, suddenly, they were against it

Nuclear power feels like a little kid behind the wheel of a Lamborghini in a crowded plaza.

Haha, that reminds me. A science teacher I had back in the ‘70’s once said that a piece of nuclear material the size of an English pea will run a 200 horse power motor for 10 years.

The water that is pumped in and out of a nuclear cooling facility is isolated from the water that actually touches the radioactive material.

Not at Fukishima.

The downside is too great compared to the benefit.

“The downside is too great compared to the benefit.”

Having worked on nuclear subs, carriers and powerplants for over 40 years I disagree.

I'm guessing you were not assigned to Fukishima. That quip aside (sorry, could not resist), my concern is the downside in a failure, something you did not address in your reply. FReepRegards by the way.
