One of the most irritating speech patterns, in addition to sounding like every sentence is a question, is constantly beginning beginning sentences with the word "So." It makes the speaker sound less than confident. Such was the case with Elizabeth Warren who has a history of "So" abuse which was continued at the Democrat debate in Houston. I notice that she especially begins her sentences with "So" when she is attempting to answer a question that she is not comfortable with. Here is a compilation of Elizabeth Warren's "So" overuse at the beginning of sentences during the debate.

Using "So" so much at the beginning of sentences sort of deflates whatever it is that follows.

What drives me nuts is when people start a sentence with “again” or “I mean”, when there are no previous sentences to justify the use of those words. Michael Medved did that a lot.
Is he still on the Radio, BTW? I’ve gotten so into youtube in my car that I’ve not turned on the AM radio in months.

It's a millenial thing. I've noticed it in the workplace. "So" abuse, Upspeak, and Vocal Fry.
It's so stupid.

I watched only for a short while. During that time, Warren refused to answer the questions but just babbled.

Of course not, but she’s vocal-stylistically pandering to them.

It makes the speaker sound less than confident. I am of the opposite opinion. To me, it sounds arrogant, like beginning a sentence with "Listen, ..."

beginning sentences with the word "So." It makes the speaker sound less than confidentYep, it's like restating it so you ca think up your answer because you have no clue how to answer the question, it's stalling tactic.

When Elizabeth Warren preaches and her eyes get crazy, voice shrill, she becomes a womans mother-in- law, a mans ex-wife and everyones seventh grade teacher.

Biden’s filler is “the fact of the matter is”. He needs a bit longer to come up with a fabricated answer. “So” is the shortcut version.
