EmblemHealth hires 110 call center employees in East Syracuse (New York state)

EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- EmblemHealth, a nonprofit health insurer, is hiring more than 100 call center employees at its office in East Syracuse.

The jobs pay between $670 and $1,418 a week. They are union positions, according to the insurer, and offer health, welfare and retirement benefits.

There are 110 spots available, and applications can be found here.

Those eligible need two years of experience in customer service, including one year in a call center. A college degree and experience with the health insurance industry are preferred.

Besides peasant wages, you’d have to live in East Syracuse.

No wonder there are jobs avaialable.

I used to travel to Syracuse on business a lot in the 90s, back when the huge Carrier plant was still open. Loved going to the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que for lunch.

Drove through it a few years ago, on the way to the Thousand Islands region, and it was depressing.
