The Deep State Will Face Justice Soon! Right?
American Thinker ^ | August 31, 2019 | Peggy Ryan

We're repeatedly told by reliable sources that these crimes won't go unpunished — "justice is coming," "buckle up!," "tick tock," "BOOM!" The DOJ is about to drop the hammer on the bad guys. Yet after two years of this drama, not a single indictment or prosecution

Now we're awaiting the much anticipated I.G. report on (FISA) abuse that's going to blow Spygate wide open. Or not.

So far, the I.G. is batting zero on justice. The I.G. report on Hillary Clinton's email investigation showed pervasive bias for Hillary, talk of an insurance policy should she lose, that Hillary should win "100 million to 0." Yet in the end, Horowitz pulled a Comey, said the investigators' hatred for Donald Trump, their loyalty to Hillary Clinton, didn't impact their findings in any way. Huh?

I’d rather be under Russian rule than socialist under the current crew of whack job lunatics competing for the DNC slot at potus.

God no, not that. I have see the old USSR. Prosecutors could torture the accused to get a confession.

I too feel frustrated. This may be the darkest moment for us. But we are not without hope. The special prosecutor's grand jury survives and is still working. I am trtying to keep faith with the rule of something other than the deep state.

There’ll be a couple of lower-level indictments, at most. And only in an attempt to appease. The Swamp still rules, and in fact stinks worse than ever.

As much as it pains me to agree with this post, I am forced to do so, just by observation.

The tip off was having strozk/page duo being the people that 'classified' the 7 comey memos that he stole and leaked.

Talk about a 'rigged system', I wonder if Brennan will decide if there was obummer knowledge of this farce.

My wife keeps saying there is going to be a second revolution, I disagree, but I don't know.

This corruption is so hard to accept.

I said a few months ago when info came out Barr was going after the scum responsible for the attempted coup NOTHING was going to happen, and sadly it seems I was proven right. But judging from past actions of DO NOTHING actions, it wasn’t that much of a stretch to guess. That fact is democrats ARE above the law and it seems nothing is ever going to be done about it.

Or “Here we go! BOOM!”...and nothing happens. The Treasonists are laughing their ass off. Any other country an attempted coup would bring the death penalty. Not here though, here the Treasonists get their ass kissed, they get CNN gigs, book deals, praise by the media.

If you are looking for a semblance of justice in this world, watch the movie Chappaquiddick. Misconduct that would have sent you or I to jail and lifelong loss of license got Teddy Kennedy a mild reprimand and months suspended drivers license and he didn’t seem to give a damn about his victim. That Senator Neckbrace was even considered as a serious candidate for president three years later is a serious indictment not only of what has called itself the “press” but also of the substantial minority of Americans who would vote for such a lowlife creature for any office, not less President. So now our wonderful overlords in Congress “crossed the aisle” and funded the Ted Kennedy Center for the US Senate in Mass which attracts a few thousand visitors a year and costs taxpayer millions based on phony promises that it would be self-funded by his legion of “admirers”.

That explains a lot. So what we got is yet ANOTHER Jeff Sessions. A lot of people disagreed with me at the time when I said Rudy Guiliani would have made a kick butt AG, but he would have!! The guy absolutely detests these crooks, especially Hillary, so why is Trump constantly hiring defenders of the deep state?

There is nothing to say that the classification of those documents can’t be re-visited, but be prepared for the counter argument ... that they were re-classified in order to prosecute. This is an example of why people with the highest integrity are needed to serve in our government. It is difficult to attract such people for obvious reasons.

One thing not discussed is whether POTUS’ power of executive privilege with regards to the “Comey papers.” Comey had no right release such documents, classified or not. They did not belong to him even if he wrote them.

Yes!! I want to see that movie as I studied that case a few years ago and to me it seemed more a case of murder than vehicular homicide. How did he get out of the car and she didn’t? Why were the windows rolled up if he did climb out the window? There was a house with its lights on right near there. Why didn’t he knock on the door and ask for help? My theory is while she was passed out drunk (she had a .09 blood alcohol level) Teddy decided to get out,.lock the door and push the car over the edge.

“If any laws were broken, and I doubt they were, it was for lying to the court. The government lises to the court all the time, and the most severe remedy is to dismiss the case.”

Not sure to what you are referring when you say that you doubt any laws were broken but for lying to the [FISA] court.

A lie (a willful intent to deceive) should not go unpunished, whether by legal (prosecution) or other means (loss of job, pension, loss of reputation, etc) for government lies. Those in highest echelons should be held at a higher standard. Those who are entrusted with maintaining the integrity of our institutions cannot turn a blind eye. There has to be practical, well-defined limits to what can be prosecuted however . . . whether a defendant or prosecution. Else, every trial or hearing right down to traffic tickets would open up a new can of worms. Part of the problem is that our citizens, society and its institutions don’t agree universally that what has happened here to POTUS is a cause of serious concern. Rather, the ends justifies the means, the means to acquire and maintain power, money and destroy a man who was elected POTUS.

Me, too. I have to say, once again, “I’m glad I’m old.”

Yeah, I used to hear George Burns sing “I Wish I Were Eighteen Again” and loved it, I could listen to it three times in a row. Now I’m very glad I’m NOT eighteen again!!!

I hoped it would begin years ago with the first IG report.

It didn’t.

Disheartening isn’t a strong enough word for this.

One thing we can’t do is allow ourselves to succumb to total cynicism and despair. To do so would lead to one of the worst defeats in history.

The deep state isn’t God. It’s not an unbeatable foe. We have to find the right paths to take now. It begins with getting our hearts and minds straight, and not succumbing to hopelessness.

“Trump “hires” nobody. He appoints whomever he’s told...”

Given the size and scope of the job, it is not one for a “do-it-yourselfer”. He came in from the outside. He has to rely on (trusted) others. Finding people to trust in DC is very difficult. Nonetheless, POTUS seems to be good at the revolving door, which is not a bad thing. Even a “trusted WH aide” recently was canned for good cause - appears to be a breach of trust. It used to be it was an honor to serve the President (or Senator, or Congressman, or work in one of the agnecies, courts, etc) and hence an honor for one’s country. And a person would do nothing to bring dishonor, even to a point of personal sacrifice if necessary. Having been involved in politics in years past, there are some fine people who adhere to a similar philosophy. However, I have witnessed on both sides of the aisle, more heavily weighted among the demokraps, opportunists (to put it politely) who do not need to be anywhere near the levers of government. But power and money attracts them.

You’ve got reason to be skeptical — too bad so many Freepers got sucked into a psyop on this.

Quitting is a healthy adaptive response when a goal can’t be reached.

I’m continuing to work for JJ here in Mi and voting Trump, but after that I might need to retreat from politics and just enjoy my husband and puppers.

The obvious corruption is so depressing. Esp when thinking of those who gave their lives for this country.

Put me down as ‘extremely skeptical’. At this point, it looks like Barr has, at best, been compromised. And, it certainly looks like the pubbies are in bed with the dhimmicraps; looking out for their own futures ahead of the American People they were elected to serve.
To be sure, this is not new. But, it certainly appears to be much deeper and more insidious than we previously knew.

Sad.
