I went to a couple of SCA things in the late 70s - early 80s...
All I ever saw were nerds of both sexes who would have difficulty getting laid if the mead was spiked with ‘spanish fly’ and viagra.

In this area the annual New York Rennaissance Faire is held right around now (weekend days and Labor Day, August through October in Tuxedo, NY). Is the SCA involved in that fair?

Let me clarify. It’s a shame you stopped reading her blog. She is brilliant and makes excellent points in each of her posts. I’ve been able to mine all sorts of treasures from her blog.

I’m too olde and out of shape to run around and pretend to be a knight, but for those who do, well, good for them. I hope they have a good time. And as long as they keep their nocturnal activities to themselves, who cares?
