I could not get into my account without clicking “I agree” to their new policy.. I come from times when we had a little trust... I answered the “secret questions” it was me allright... that wasn’t enough..they wanted me to agree to everything else and I don’t do that to so much ...such a long diatribe.
Not any more.
More than anything in all this... it was the length of the agreement to agree.... I have never seen one that long just to get into my account.. who reads all of it? who reads what you have to agree to to get a download to install? who reads it all? for it to be that long... what all did they put in it?!
I went into Target and asked one of the store employees, a man, if I could use the ladies room. He hesitated for a moment and then said, “Yes.” I said, “No thanks,” and used the men’s room.
It makes me angry that you have no choice but to give a freakin email address before you are allowed to purchase something either on the interwebs or even in a brick and mortar (that is in the rare even that the brick and mortar actually has the pysical object I went to get in the first place. I have fake emails for this, but once in a while I get distracted or rushed and accidentally give out my real email, and when even one store gets your email, that email is permanently dead. The only worse experience is when you give to charity in your own name. I no longe care about the tax break. The sheer f*^%# volume of mail that begins piling to the ceiling instantly after contributing a few bucks to a good cause must cost 1000 times the resources spent on the good deed in the first place.
I use my Jonah Kyle name, fake address and Internet phone number as my information for any rewards program. No reason to give anyone real information.
I hear your pain. I hate it when something that worked for a long time suddenly has new legalese and requirements to continue using it.
So I guess you dont have an iphone

On top of everything else the past 2 weeks... frustration abounds... a new laptop to get everything transferred to... a new cell phone to get used to.. And did away with cable, switching to Roku. That many changes to get to working right... and the Target thing just set me off.
Takes me a lot of time to get new changed to useful items.
Got an email telling me to check my Target bill.... so went there and they had set a trap...
Be kind and don't eat the cuttlefish and asperagus.
Last time I was in Target they had a photo up in the camera dept. of a woman in a hijab. I wanted to ask if they endorsed female mutilation, the concept of women as property, etc. etc.
Seems to me Sears hired muslims to work cash registers... and there would be 2 open in the whole main floor of the store. they gave announcements on the speakers in 2 languages... seems to me that might not have been a wise move all around.
If a woman in a burkha says, “Cheese,”
would you know to click the shutter?
I just logged in to my Target MC, and didn’t need to check anything. Did you try clearing your cache/cookies? It seems strange they’d do this.
But if you’re not using it, sure, close it. Just make sure it shows closed on your credit report.
its insane
I don’t get into target very often... just pay it when I use it... but this time I tried to.. I have a new laptop and that could have been a problem... recognizing a new computer.. but I haven’t been in there for a long time. when I talked to a person, he said it was a new policy... maybe I was lucky and got the whole thing.... but it would not let me go any further without agreeing... if they recognized you and your computer/phone... maybe that made the difference.
All the passwords and usernames get on my last nerve anyway... I know they are necessary, but if I could uses the same one for all... that would help me remember..
All the years I’ve had target card, it’s been a hassle to get in and I never did it often... sometimes they would take my card number as the user and then it was something else... it was somethings I didn’t wnat to do and then they made it difficult.
I don’t like to be pushed into something... and rebel at things that have changed... lol...
I just used pay pal and that was a hassle also... what gives? I got an email about some changes... but I was just buying something and it took me around that tree several times..
more new computer?
I usually get to go home to Michigan once per year and we always stop at the Dundee store. We love that store and spend way too much money there when we stop.
Back in 2013 I was able to stop at the store in Grand Rapids right after it opened. I was quite disappointed at the small size so I still stop at the Dundee store as I drive by it on US-23.
You wanted. Understood. Dont call.
