Because in a world of storm, we all need a little Emmylou Harris
I saw her perform in New Orleans, in, I think 1980.
Sort of, but after all these years of my wife having her mother stay over, not a hair on my palm.
The kind of thing that makes life worth living.
Yes it is. I often wonder how music ever got started but we probably wouldn’t be here without it. And good books too.
Emmylou is always a reminder of the goodness that can be found in classic country music, the present day twangy overproduced shite notwithstanding.
Now check yourself out some Wanda Jackson, the Queen of Rockabilly...
I’ve never needed ANY EH.
Best three minutes of my day,for sure. lol
Did my heart good.
Love Wanda and will post something from her at some future date.

Great.
For those who like to go to the roots, in 1950 all you needed to have the #1 country song for 1/3 of the year was a 12 bar blues song set to a country beat, sequins on your suit, and some Rainbow Ranch Boys:

Linda Ronstadt covered one of Lowell George's songs (Willin') brilliantly and might even had had a relationship with him. Had a heart attack and died just two years later. Right after having a large pizza on the New Jersey Turnpike. Weighed over 300 pounds when he died.
Long, long time ago.
Back in 2003 or so, I saw her perform for the first time, backing up Neil Young.
I was floored - she was so good, and so beautiful! I became an instant fan.
Neil Young sucked, for the most part.

Linda Ronstadt told the story that Lowell George met her after one of her shows and they immediately hit it off. Yes, she did cover “Willin’” - one of my favorite LF songs.
Eventually, she discovered Lowell was married and she ended that relationship.
Check out Lowell George’s solo album - he does a GREAT cover of Rickie Lee Jones’ “Easy Money”

Do the laws of the universe even allow for the possibility that someone named “Emmylou” would NOT be a sweet, attractive lady? :-)
Tried, can’t understand anything she says except “movin’ on.”
