Yes, America has a problem.
And no, red flag laws will not stop the next mass shooting.
Nor is mental health the heart of the matter.
I am an American by choice. My pride in being an American today is a function in part of choosing to be a citizen of the freest and greatest nation the world has ever seen, and although I may not have been born or raised in America, I am familiar with our history and our cultural heritage.
As a result I know that not too long ago, in living memory, gun culture so universally permeated American society that it would be totally normal for young boys to bring their .22-caliber rifles or single-barreled shotguns to school with them, keep them in their lockers, and use them on the way home to bag small gameeven in California, one of the most anti-Second Amendment states in the nation today. Yet children didnt open fire upon one another in the corridors during recess or compile murder lists with the names of classmates they wished to kill. So the presence of guns per se is a red herring and tells us nothing. Not to mention the fact that you can kill far more people than either the Dayton or the El Paso murderers combined simply by stealing a truckin one case, more than 80 innocent people in less than two minuteswithout one large-capacity magazine....

Doesnt matter. The cry for someone to do something will be obeyed.
Red Flag = Registered Democrat
Proof that Democrats are mentally ill.
Doctors are trained to ask patients questions as part of a mini mental status test.
The most common question asked, “Who is president of the United States?”
Democrats never answer that one, but merely respond “ Trumps not my president!”
“Red Flag” laws will do nothing to prevent mass murderers and is nothing but collective punishment of Americans.
Or Jeffrey Epstein.
“And not once in all of my HS years did any kid DARE to harm another living being with a handy, accessible weapon. That was considered, cheating and you didnt do that.”
It was the same for my high school in Montana where there where many students who had pickup trucks with multiple rifles on their rack parked in the high school parking lot all day long.
Red Flag Laws Wont Prevent Another Massacre
Nonsense.
Theyll prevent many
How? You think that someone that intends to kill a bunch of people will suddenly have a change of heart and mind? Hardly they will just find another gun and do what they want too!
Red Flag Laws are not enacted, designed , or desired to prevent another “Massacre”. They are a stopping stone to the end goal of disarming the American Public. They are enacted so the politicians can go to the public and say,”these laws are not working. We have to pass stricter ones”.
I think we’ve seen enough of these shooters on police radar because someone saw something and said something and yet little was done. Either there has to be accountability or, if they lack support in the law to investigate, they need help in that area while due process is still protected.
“In fact, MANY people on FR have been lamenting for years that everyone around these crazy bastards KNEW they were going to blow, but nothing could be done.”
Things could have been done that were not done, certainly true in Parkland.
Red Flag laws will capture the talkers who would never - as well as large numbers of people who never would.
What people knew “was not known” before it happened. Having Known someone was “going to blow” is confirmation of - not prediction of.
No. We all know that, but the idiot politicians hope it will give them cover through the next election. How many times have you heard that some criminal was "on a watch list", yet perpetrated a heinous crime?
It's almost as worthless as "Suicide Watch" in NYC.
But gun free zones will stop mass killings....oh wait, how stupid of me.
That site is unreadable. Disgusting, giant ads right in your face.
I was able to read the article quite easily. There were ads but I was able to scroll past them easy enough.
