Bad Immigration Policy
Just my thoughts | 8/8/2019 | Doug Wall

Posted on 08/08/2019 5:42:30 AM PDT by SouthWall

As the family came together, talk began of the new ones: refugees some called them, invaders others said.

They came from far away and had traveled weeks to get here, sometimes longer. They did not have a good life in their country. They were treated with hostility. Injury and hunger seemed to be their way of life, and they came here to escape.

“They should not be coming here.” an old man said, “They should stay and change their system. They should stand up for themselves there, not come here.”

“But uncle”, said a younger woman, “They do not have the power to make those changes. They can not fight their government or they will be beaten, or killed.”

“How can we help them?”, another man asked. “They do not speak our language, they do not believe as we do. The land will be more crowded. They do not think about the land the way we do. They have many filthy habits that may influence our children”

“We can let them stay here. We can not make them return to their land.”

“But more and more are coming. If we encourage them now, more will come. They are not like us. Their illnesses are not like our illnesses. Their numbers will one day exceed ours, then what will we do?

The previous conversation was from the year 1640. The participants were native American (Massachuset tribe) some of the first natives to interact with the English settlers.

Their decision was to wait and see how the new people blended in. Their immigration policy did not work.

No expert but things I have seen recently suggest “Clovis Man” was European. So the original “Native Americans” were actually European but this seems to conflict with the narrative so it is ignored.

1965 was the turning point in the immigration debacle we now face.

“This bill we sign today is not a revolutionary bill. It does not affect the lives of millions. It will not restructure the shape of our daily lives.” - LBJ

“The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs.” (U.S. Senate, Subcommittee on Immigration and Naturalization of the Committee on the Judiciary, Washington, D.C., Feb. 10, 1965. pp. 1-3.) - E Kennedy

They lied then and are lying now. If the invasion is left unfettered and in fact not reversed what we are dealing with now will seem like a walk in the park. Eventually most of the nation will become California like.

We need to enact The List of Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement.

The List goes like this -

1) southern barrier;
2) require eVerify to hire;
3) end all chain migration;
4) birthright per Minor v. Happersett (plural parents);
5) end work visas;
6) 10-year moratorium on all new applications for citizenship (40 years to allow workplace automation effects on downsizing population);
7) Set up an illegal aliens’ victim restitution fund.

Enactment of these provisions will motivate illegal aliens to SELF-deport.

Also consider reciprocation of the laws of the countries of origin of the illegal aliens. For example, Mexico doesn’t allow land ownership or voting to immigrants, and doesn’t honor birthright citizenship like its citizens expect from the U.S. We should offer the same deal to them.

LOL. There was no Indian nation, just a collection of individual tribes that lacked the ability to stop the influx of more advanced European settlers. The so-called native population had no immigration "policy."

There are no native Americans. North and South America were populated by migrants from the Bearing land bridge who started coming around 20,000 years ago.

Dumb comparison.

Fun perspective. I had a recent conversation with a friend about America’s formation, regarding the “Native Americans Indians”. I offer this....

Dating back to 4K to 6K years ago, we have scientific evidence of organized societies. They had language, they were reading and writing. They had developed commerce and societal structure. Technology had evolved. Even in South America, there is evidence of ancient civilizations that had complex communities.... Compared to the American Indians just 300 years ago.

How was it that in a land so fertile and lush, that the inhabitants of what is now America were thousands of years behind in evolution? The how is not that important. But understanding that they did not have written language, never figured out metals and really didn’t have an organized societal structure to manage organized commerce or share technologies. The Indians didn’t have but a basic understanding of math. Initially, they didn’t have horses (Europeans introduced horses to the Americas)

The clash of cultures was inevitable regardless of who settled or colonized the Americas. If not the Europeans, then the Asians. When a race of humans tries to cohabitate with an race of FAR less sophisticated humans, there are going to be problems. Establishing land rights with the Natives was actually attempted. But the Natives had no way to communicate, establish or mark their “territory”, beyond natural boundaries. And the territories they claimed were extraordinarily vast. The Natives were also violent and aggressive, not just with the new settlers, but with each other. They stole children from other tribes. They made slaves of rival tribesman as well.

The point is, the clash of cultures was inevitable regardless of who colonized the continent. It was unavoidable. The specifics of what should have or could have been done can be debated. I’m sure there were injustices committed. But to dwell on the evils associated with that time and history serves no purpose beyond meaningless shaming and guilt tripping citizens for political leverage. And to try to equate current events with that time in history is even more ludicrous.

All the Dem candidates favor amnesty for the 20 to 30 million illegal aliens already here. So do Reps like Rubio and Graham.

We should not succumb to the false choice of a blanket amnesty or mass deportation. Attrition thru enforcement is the answer along with better border security and interior enforcement. 40% of the illegal aliens came here legally and overstayed their visas.

Agree. The Bering land bridge from Siberia is completely believable. The dichotomy of Leftists is striking. ‘We are all immigrants’ doesn’t include Native Americans as they are considered to be the natural inhabitants of this country. But Leftists also say things like ‘they (illegal immigrants) are more American than those of us whose families have been here for several centuries’. Immigrants must assimilate or we will become the mess that is Europe. But that’s what the Leftists want.

When we opened our arms to Castro for the Mariel boatlift - Castro opened his prisons, mental institutions and holding cells for problem people and send all 250,000 to Miami.

Crime whet through the ceiling - the local Cuban community was damaged... But I’m sure we could find one little pity party story to run so the liars in the press could BS liberal fools.

Liberals are lucky their base is gullible and the corrupt jerks are willing to carry water for them.

“8) Tax foreign remittances”

Won’t work. Checks, cash, money
orders, are easily sent through
the mail. The illegal alien
invaders use Western Union for its’
convenience, and will stop using
their services if a hefty tax is levied.
Trump looked at this two years ago.
