The spread of inaccurate information by mistake is compounded by the deliberate spread of false information enabled by social media.
This initial media incompetence is often fed by an implicit bias to believe that the “right-wing” (however they define it) is to blame before the facts are known. In numerous instances this meant the Tea Party was blamed when the perpetrator turned out to be a leftist, and even in the Boston Marathon Bombing the immediate media reaction was that it was a right-wing attack (which later turned out to be an Islamic terror attack).
We try to exercise this caution where there is a suggestion of an Islamic terror connection until there is substantial evidence to support that conclusion, as there was in the Charlie Hebdo and Bataclan theater attacks.

Honestly, I think tragedies like this are a joke to these people. They’re to be used as opportunities to enrage their voter base and further divide the populace. Before a funeral has taken place no less! It’s absolutely sickening.
And nobody with real power will call them out on it. Despite Trump’s obvious frustrations with these shootings, he did his best to be inclusive. And yet, he’s still been determined to be the racist cause.

Sure seems to be in this country. We have several acquaintances of the Jewish faith and every one of them is uber liberal. Stumps me just like veterans who are uber liberal. But, it is what it is. And, there is NO changing their position.

The perception that mass shootings are a “white man’s problem” lingers around the country because white mass shooters tend to get more publicity.
Around the same time that the media was focused on the mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton, 60 people were shot in Chicago over the weekend. 24 of those people were shot in four hours.
Baltimore reached its 200th murder victim of the year during its “Ceasefire Weekend”.
4 people were killed in 4 days in Kansas City. 6 men were shot in Philly during the filming of a rap video.
Even in Toronto, 15 people were wounded in shootings over the weekend. Over 350 people have been shot this year in the Canadian city which has gun control, no NRA, and none of the usual excuses.
