Yea, I think it’s difficult for parents to accept what video games are doing to kids, since the vast majority of parents use video games as a form of daycare, to keep the kids off their backs...so we’re seeing defensive responses from parents here, and in other places.
It reminds me of telling other parents that public schools are horrible places for kids. They treat you like you’re from another planet until you realize (in my case 20 years later) that they hear it completely differently. What they hear is the following:
“You are horrible, abusive, parents, for sending your kids to public schools.”
Once I figured the above out, my attitude became f-them, my non-public schooled kids are light years ahead of where their pajama boys will ever be and I simply no longer a give a crap about those other kids.
They also breathed air.....Ban Air!
