I don't know. We played Cowboys and Indians when we were young. When we got a bit older we got to shoot real guns at Coney Island. TV and Movies featured Westerns like "Have Gun, Will Travel." Guns were much more readily available. But somehow event like these didn't happen very often.

We used to institutionalize people with mental problems and religion played a much larger role in people's lives than it does today. There was no prevailing, "if it feels good, do it," attitude. And guns weren't demonized they way they are today. I think these are among the things we have to roll back first.

yep I remember cowboys and Indians.

We also played World War II sometimes, and somebody would be the “Japs” . Today my friends and I would be in big trouble for having the “Japs” in our game.

Probably cowboys and Indians is banned nowadays too.
