A few years ago, a politician was attempting to make the case for a mandatory gun storage law.
On stage, he tried to show how easy it was to unlock a gun from being locked, with the device of his choice.
It was a live broadcast. He fumbled and fumbled.
I am sure that video is out there, but I cannot find it.
Does anyone else remember this video, and any other details about it?
It seems to have been consigned to the memory hole. Maybe it was before YouTube?
If I find it for you, will you stick it on your blog, take credit for it and pimp it for traffic on Free Republic?
Do you EVER post without ragging on someone? I’ve never seen you say anything positive or constructive. I feel deeply sorry for your family if you have one. I have never seen you post anything but incessant complaints. Your life must be so empty and boring, to sit on FR all day long, every day, waiting to attack people.
Get a job, loser.
He is now suspended again. Some people make FR better when they leave.
Has anyone ever witnessed him saying anything positive? All he does is may and ride people and insult everyone. It’s been going on for years! He brings literally nothing to an otherwise civil discussion, and as far as I can tell, he never has!
I am sure it has gone down the memory hole
Hes not suspended. Everyone falls for that joke at least once.
Yes, Humblegunner can be tiresome at times.
He is constantly “with those negative vibes” to remember a line from Kelly’s Heroes.
On the other hand, he has a quick wit, he is very sharp, and he is dedicated.
It is hard for me to be too upset with him when I consider his positive qualities.
Unfortunately, they seem to be misdirected (from my viewpoint).
“He is now suspended again. “
His account has been suspended for years yet he still manages to post!
Ah - yeah. Got me. Oh well.
I couldn’t find it with a search either but searching Youtube with “politician fumbles with gun lock” sure gets some interesting videos on how insecure many gun locks are. First one up was “4 ways police rifle lock can be picked” (that’s reassuring!) Another one was “digital gun lock hacked.” (again, very reassuring)
The politician was former Maryland governor Parris Glendening.
HG posted a pic on his homepage that makes it look like his accounts been suspended.
He’s a real funny guy....(eye roll). He’s got too much free time and not much of a life.
Bkmk
That “suspended” notice is joke HTML. I had it on mine and it took me a while to figure out how to get rid of it, after copying and posting it.
The video in question was of a press conference in 2000.
Parris Glendening was Governor of Maryland. He fumbled with a locking device for about two minutes.
The NRA is said to have made a campaign ad from the video.
The video seems to have disappeared from the Internet.
Somewhere, someone has it on tape.
HG seems to be a sacred cow around here. When I recently posted the same observation about him not contributing anything at all positive to the forum, my post was summarily deleted.
These times are really amazing. This is full on Stalin-esque disappearing of facts and records to maintain the polit-bureau’s narrative for the plebes.
Just unbelievable how they are disappearing history and people’s statements to try and hold on to the delusion that they are good leaders and we like what they are doing.
Yes, Oatmeal.
Everyone knows you support theft and try to point out anyone who objects to it.
Yay, you.
