A North Carolina runoff Tuesday was widely seen as a test of the GOP’s ability to elect more women in the Trump era — and Republicans failed.
Despite having an impressive war chest and the backing of every Republican woman in the House — now down to 13 — Dr. Joan Perry was trounced by fellow physician Greg Murphy to capture the party’s nomination for the House special election.
Perry, however, was up against powerful forces in the GOP, with President Donald Trump’s conservative House allies Mark Meadows of North Carolina and Jim Jordan of Ohio supporting Murphy. And Rudy Giuliani, the president’s personal lawyer, recorded robocalls on Murphy’s behalf.
That made the nearly 20-point loss sting even more for House Republican women, who are desperate to rebuild their ranks and frustrated that some of their male colleagues are working against them. And with Trump at the top of the ticket next year, the push to elect more women and attract more women voters into the party will get only tougher.
“People are going to have to make this a priority,” Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), who has made boosting female candidates her mission, told POLITICO. “If they think it’s important to have more women in the conference, people are going to need to step up and make those investments.”

If the Republican oligarchy got behind conservative women, they could not be stopped. But they never do. So their hand-picked RINOs lose to the more conservative candidate, who in this case was a man (the horror!).
The Republican electorate is not playing the old game. We don't need or want any more Lisa Murkowski's, Susan Collins's or McMorris-Hyphen's!

In these modern days, I won’t vote for a woman just because she was born with a vagina, or for those “woman” who weren’t, nor for those who had an addavagtomy operation.

People familiar with my postings know that I am about the STRONGEST person in support of voting for RINOs in November elections (versus 3rd party, or sitting it out), because even our worst RINOs (Romney included now) have a far better record on voting for Trump’s judges that ANY Democrat, including the so-called conservative Democrats (as in Joe Manchin) or moderate Democrats (as in Doug Jones)...not even close. The idea that there is ‘no difference between the parties’ is totally bullshit when it comes to seating judges, which is at least as important as any other issue today, if not more so.
Having said all that, we still had to deal with the Kavenaugh spectacle last year. We have two Republican women in the Senate, and 48 Republican men. EVERY Republican man voted for Kavenaugh and quickly accepted the fact the entire Ballsy Ford story was a scam meant to destroy Kavenaugh. But what of our two women? One flat-out voted against him (Murkowski), and the other needed to drag it out and be a drama queen (Collins). Do some probability theory that the two troublemakers on our side would just happen to be our only 2 women and it’s not pure chance, it is that WOMEN BEHAVE DIFFERENTLY and, in this case irrationally, when dealing with certain issues, particularly those affecting the sisterhood.
So, before I take seriously women bitching that the GOP is unfair to them, it would sure be nice to see the women we already put in office start being fair to the GOP, particularly people like Kavenaugh, who would have SAILED to the nomination, had those two Republican women Senators been Republican men Senators. It shouldn’t be that hard for them to NOT be played by the Democrats and the media...yet they certainly were in this case, and often in other cases.
(just a reminder here...not a single Democrat, man or women, voted for Kavenaugh until he had the nomination locked up - so don’t think for a moment that a Democrat, any Democrat, is better than a RINO - not happening, not today at least)

Why should we elect more women? Aren’t the ones who are there bad enough?
I resent (and refuse to accept) the idiotic leftist demand that all things in life be apportioned according to some kind of “percentage” count (which is, itself, suspect) of whatever the sub-group of the hour is.
Except, of course, if it’s something like black players on a basketball team, in which case their demand for race / sex based percentages is thrown out the window in favor of “diversity” or “fairness” or whatever other BS word pops into their nasty little brains.

Great points. Think how the issue would have played out had Collins and/or Murkowski did a full frontal, face-to-face attack on Ballsy the Fraud’s credibility - and then continued it against the demokrap leadership who brought forth this crap. Instead, they reinforce the PC stereotype/bigotry that what one has / doesn’t have between one’s legs is more important than doing the right thing when called to plate. They were more concerned about the sisterhood and appearances as you say, instead of taking on a great injustice.

I don’t care about the plumbing on a Congress critter candidate. I want a candidate who will turn the immigration spigot off, cut spending, and roll back the federal behemoth. That Meadows and Jordan opposed this gal is a pretty good indication that she is not much of a conservative.
I agree with every word you say and I am female. I would gladly five up my right to vote if all women could not vote.
I’m in NC 3 and voted for Dr. Perry. She ran ads where she stated she supported President Trump and his agenda. What did I miss? How is one more conservative than standing with President Trump?
