Kellyanne Conway has claimed that President Donald Trump is on his way to a Nobel Peace Prize thanks to his diplomacy with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Speaking on Fox News on Tuesday, the counselor to the president took a shot at former President Barack Obama, suggesting that he—unlike Trump—did not deserve to receive the honor, Grabien reported.

Agreed. Considering that Reagan didn’t get one but ones like Yasser Arafat and Nelson Mandela did in spite of their very violent history, Trump should certainly not take the lack of a Nobel Peace Prize too personally.
Give Kim the Peace Prize (alone)
Give the Peace Prize to Kim and Moon (of South Korea)
Give the Peace Prize to Kim, Moon, and Pompeo.

I think Kellyanne is jumping the gun; but depending on how things go, awarding one to Trump in the future may revitalize the legitimacy of the Prize.

The first Trump-Kim summit was about North Korea committing to giving up nuclear weapons. The second was about defining what that meant. This time, nuclear weapons didn’t even come up. It may be the goal has moved from denuclearization to recognizing North Korea as a nuclear power and trying to cap North Korea’s nuclear program.
