And they hunt less, too.
The reason is obvious.

Young white millennial men probably hunt with their buddies or dads, uncles, but very, very rare.
Same thing for GenX or whatever they call them.

Well, maybe if setting up wifi or configuring printers were included....

That's because millennials have really really pathetic dads, compared to baby boomers the things dads teach require a present dad to teach them.
By the time millennials graduate high school they still don't know much about dads even though there may have been four or five of him.

You pretty much can’t work on cars anymore because of all the computer sensors.
More and more it’s cheaper just to buy a new gadget than try to fix it.

Instead of bashing them I have made it a mission to teach them. I have taught some woodworking and others how to do brake jobs. I have another I’m showing grass care and yard work. We need to work with them because they are a sad bunch when it comes to this stuff. Good thing is they can be taught.

I don't blame the Millennials for this. I blame the "single mom" society that we have devolved into over the past few decades. In many families, there are no men around. And as far as men not being handy around the house, it really started with the Baby Boomer generation. Now it's gotten to the point where men are calling "AAA" for a flat tire. When I was coming of age, it would have been humiliating as a man to ask for help on a flat tire. In fact, my father wouldn't even let me borrow his car until I demonstrated to him that I could change a flat and deal effectively with other common car issues at the time, such as a flooded engine or an overheating radiator.
Well anyway, I've been telling my sons that if they ever wanted to work for themselves, they could be handymen. For most of their peers can't do anything around the house and their services will always be in demand.

That’s too bad. I love it! Painting all of my rooms, building a new desk, fixing a roof leak, doing some landscaping and I’m going to start repainting my home exterior on my own!
Then again, I’m Gen-X, and cant leave well enough alone. Ha!
Might be because of low home ownership that many of them just dont know how? However, I dont fault anyone for knowing their limits and letting a pro take the lead.

“More and more its cheaper just to buy a new gadget than try to fix it.”
A reality made possible by automation and cheap transportation (from China, etc.) and other things.
I build and repair things all the time. I’m an oddball, trust me.

I don’t know what you are talking about. We don’t even own a left-handed monkey.

Too bad no one has ever shown them what a powerful tool a hammer is. Baling wire is good, of course, but a hammer gives certainty as to whether something can be repaired.
