Yes!!! Packed my own lunch for years. We couldn’t even afford to pay the nominal fee for the school lunch.

Bingo. With 8 kids in our family we always brown bagged it. Now in my 60’s I still bring my lunch.
Requiring schools to serve foods doesnt mean kids will eat it. Many schools said the lunch mandates increased the amount of food thrown away. What do these kids eat when they are not in school? My bet is many of the parents who get wholly subsidized school lunches feed their kids a diet of junk food and snackd
