If we go into the 2020 election campaign and there aren’t at least a half-dozen prominent figures from the Obama era involved in criminal trials, Trump will lose the election because he’ll have no credibility with his base.

Count me among those who think there isn’t a chance in hell Trump is ever going to let that happen.

The main problem with putting all ones hope on Trump to get this done is that he's one man against far too many. Many (most?) in the judiciary would simply reject any such case as being a political question.

See the wall for an example. He wanted to build the wall, many voted for him on this issue. Yet, with an (R) controlled congress for two years, so very little was accomplished.

Getting Hillary, Clapper, Brennan, Comey, Strzuk, Page, Nelly, Orr, etc behind bars should happen...but the odds are far, far greater than getting a few miles of border wall built with a republican controlled congress!
