If fascism comes to America, it will be through our college and university system. - Roger Simon, PJ Media
Since I covered AOCs completely ignorant, entitled comment regarding prosperity last week I feel its only fair to use todays post to point out that not all Millennials are ignorant, uneducated and oblivious to reality. Alyssa Ahlgren, in her article Thoughts From a hipster Coffee Shop gives me hope.
My generation is becoming the largest voting bloc in the country. We have an opportunity to continue to propel us forward with the gifts capitalism and democracy has given us. The other option is that we can fall into the trap of entitlement and relapse into restrictive socialist destitution. The choice doesnt seem too hard, does it?
Well, you sure wouldnt think so
But when everything youve been taught was to the contrary your brainwashing is complete. Youve been conditioned to believe not your lyin eyes but rather the hogwash perpetrated by the progressive cabal. You have been assimilated. You will vote Democratic Socialist, straight ticket.
I scroll through my newsfeed on my phone looking at the latest headlines of Democratic candidates calling for policies to fix the so-called injustices of capitalism. I put my phone down and continue to look around. I see people talking freely, working on their MacBooks, ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it dawned on me.
We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and weve become completely blind to it. Vehicles, food, technology, freedom to associate with whom we choose. These things are so ingrained in our American way of life we dont give them a second thought. We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty. One. Times. Virtually no one in the United States is considered poor by global standards. Yet, in a time where we can order a product off Amazon with one click and have it at our doorstep the next day, we are unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful.
Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said to Newsweek talking about the millennial generation, An entire generation, which is now becoming one of the largest electorates in America, came of age and never saw American prosperity.
When I first read that statement, I thought to myself, that was quite literally the most entitled and factually illiterate thing Ive ever heard in my 26 years on this earth My generation is being indoctrinated by a mainstream narrative to actually believe we have never seen prosperity.
We were warned about this 50 years ago by none other than Nikita Khrushchev. Somehow I thought people would be more vigilant.
Anyway, just some musings from the road: perhaps there will always be 10 (or 36 per Hasidic legend, h/t Janice the Elder) righteous men (which includes women like Alyssa) on this earth to hold Gods anger in abeyance. I certainly hope so, because I know that the snowflakes currently demanding social justice will not fare well in the event God decides to unleash some real justice.
Stay strong out there, the righteous are counting on us.

...and will not work for any reason. Lazy lot.
Democratic Socialism: You can vote your way in but you have to shoot your way out.
Any “ism” promising a utopia ends in tyranny.
Jim and Tammy Baker,
Where are they Now?
“If fascism comes to America, it will be through our college and university system. - Roger Simon, PJ Media”
Yes. MOST definitely. Socialism, Communism, Fascism, etc.
look, one thing government should do is make things better for the governed. No one argues that having roads, defense help the governed.
Tammy croaked. Jim is still sucking money from old ladies.
“not all Millennials are ignorant, uneducated and oblivious to reality”
True ... but the vast majority are and that is the problem.
We had a rough winter a few years ago and we went to Fred Meyer for groceries. After two days of delayed deliveries, the shelves were empty. I dont mean our selection was limited; there was nothing. It dawned on me that at our most prosperous, we are 72 hours from starvation. I realized how incredibly fragile our standard of living is, and how constant labor and diligence is required to preserve it. It is not a given, and can be irretrievably destroyed in a heartbeat. And it will probably have to happen before many will know it.
From my perspective (as a millennial) that's largely true. I ran into an acquaintance the other day, who has four brothers. A few years ago they were two in college, one in prep school, one a college dropout offering music lessons; both parents working hard despite serious medical issues. Now? One married, moved away, the other 3 still living with the parents; and now it's two college dropouts, two have criminal records, the prep schooler is an artist and the parents are still working. The sister, my acquaintance, is hoping her wedding will be financed by her in-laws-to-be.
These folks are, imo, typical.
I've got a house of my own with no mortgage plus two part time jobs and some volunteer duties once a week. Whatever time remains, I'm a musician and an artist, but my parents are not my patrons or my mule team.
Among the causes of millennial shortcomings, include parents. They drive themselves to extremes, to get their kids into leftist indoctrination camps, and call it "success." They coddle their offspring, to "spare" them all toil and sweat. They often disparage religion, or give it moral equivalency with absence of religion. They consider independence of far less consequence than security, and many of them apparently think that security means your grown child is downstairs playing games.
JIT inventory management:
Just-in-time (JIT) inventory is a stratagem that manufacturers utilize to increase efficiency and decrease waste by receiving goods only as they are needed in the manufacturing process, thereby reducing the cost of inventory.
After the heavy rains this past winter, we need to replace one skylight with the opening vent at the top. Our roofer placed the order with Home Depot in March, and if we are lucky, he will get shipment in June. There are no skylights at any level.
We would like to replace two more before they cause problems. He might get those in Sept/Oct..
Our 40 year old redwood back deck needs to be replaced due to rains and daily sun exposure. Our contractor might get time to install in Oct. The problem again is lack of inventory.
JIT is based on a way of thinking that ignorantly relies on a state of peace and prosperity the world rarely saw until America rose to power. It’s like going hunting and ordering 1 bullet at a time, delivered by drone, when you see a deer.
I’m not looking forward to the time when China decides to cut us off or otherwise has a crisis and literally every store in the nation is short of more than half of their stock with no end in sight.
