Sounds like fake/over exaggerated news.

I don’t think so .... from another source:
The knowledge of the files themselves is not new, as outlets including NBC have previously reported on them. An Oregon judge ordered their release in 2012 after they were shown to a jury in a civil suit.
However, the number of alleged perpetrators found in the files is new, according to Anderson. He said, citing testimony by a professional retained by the BSA to audit the files, that there were 7,819 suspected perpetrators, while the number of victims total 12,254.
“That is a number not known before today or ever revealed by the Boy Scouts of America,” he said.

Tommy is reading this from a news source on his morning show but don’t know which one.
The problem being that these are in some cases “suspected”, the BSA did not always do investigations, there were no criminal investigations in many cases, and nobody ever got to defend themselves against possible false charges.
Now, every person who managed to fall onto this list is going to be labelled a child abuser, even those who had some boy who was mad about something make up a story about them.
I think there were serious problems, but that doesn’t mean that all the names on here were actual perpetrators.
