There’s no shortage of anti-vaxxer’s at FR. I was wondering what their opinion is of taking a vaccine for an old-folks malady?
I'm 71, and got the first of the new vaccine. Still have to get the second one once they get a supply in.
Thanks for that comment. It stirred research on my part into WI-38 and MRC-5 fetal cell lines that are used in many vaccines.
My husband got nailed for his B-day in mid-Dec. it’s a bitch.
This old folks malady is getting around to younger folks-40-50’s-stress seems to make it strike.
We both got Shingrix vaccine 6 wks ago. second round in late summer. Sore arm but considering what I saw my husband go through-a piece of cake.

As I posted, I got the vaccine about 10 years ago, and the booster a while ago.
My hubby got shingles before that and it was BAD, so when I heard there was a vaccine I was almost waiting on the steps at the doctor’s office to get the shot. DH was incredibly stressed at work, and we assumed that was the trigger.
My aunt had them interternally and I saw how she suffered.
Depends on if you have other autoimmunes. Neurologist advised against it for me. Then my health is a wreak and can’t risk it or the Flu shot as I react to them.
Very well said. It is an individuals choice. I’ve had 2 small patches over the years. Treated them myself, but know they can be extremely bad, 1 lady at church had them all across her AB and got Neuropathy from them.
My health excludes a lot of vaccines as my body won’t tolerate any more damage. The last flu shot was the Bird Flu and I ended up in the ER from Dehydration, I stayed sick for 2 weeks from it, never took another. Had all the child hood diseases. Only vaccine we got was Smallpox as it was free. Poor people didn’t have much choice. Ins back then didn’t cover doc visits of vaccines.
