From my myMedicare.gov site:

“Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) or Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) don’t cover the shingles shot.

Generally, Medicare prescription drug plans (Part D) cover all commercially available vaccines (like the shingles shot) needed to prevent illness. Contact your Medicare drug plan for more information about coverage”.

Geisinger Gold is my Part D, so it covers it. My error and thanks for the correction.

My son had a terrible bout of chicken pox when he was 4 years old and got Shingles in his early 20s. Not necessarily an “old people’s malady”.

Can you get Shingles more than once? Both my husband and son have had it. Can they get them again?

I wish to God I never got the vaccine. My case of shingles was unpleasant, but my reaction to the vaccine is much, much worse and has lasted for months!!

I think we are all unwilling Guinea pigs in a some grand government experiment.

Do what you want, but I regret every day the I got suckered into getting the vaccine.

I worked in a big city ER for years.I've seen shingles...up close and personal. It ain't pretty I assure you.

My PCP,a senior member of Harvard Medical School's faculty strongly advised me to get one.No problems...and no shingles.

Horrible pain and you don’t have to have had chicken pox to get shingles. Just exposed to it. My son didn’t have CP, but came down with shingles. And he was 52. Get the vaccine.

If you've had Chicken Pox, get the d@mn shot!

It wasn't an option for me so I was vaccinated.

I was lucky, it only felt like someone had shoved a spear through my rib cage for six weeks.

Some people get worse or permanent symptoms.

I got the first of the shingrax shots last month. Will get the 2nd next month. My mom had shingles & 7 years later still has the after effects. Awful.

Shingles is a truly rotten thing. I had it on my back, which is just about the least offensive of the 2-3-4 typical locations. I can’t recall how long I had it, but it was 40 years ago when I would posit (without knowing anything factual) that my immune system was probably more robust. I think I had it for 2 months or so. I took no medications for it, it just went away.

If the prospect is getting this s**t on your face and having to endure it for years as an older person, I would go get the vaccine today, now.

I’ve had two bouts of shingles. The last time was in September. Fortunately it was on my legs and pretty mild. Still, I don’t ever want it again.

I just had my first shot of Shingrix about a week ago. I tried to get it twice before, but they still have shortages. No side affects. About the same soreness as I’ve had from a flu shot. I have Medicare Advantage, but it still cost about $150 a shot. It’s worth it if I never get shingles again.

My daughter is a pharmacist. She gave my my vax.

I said, "I hope this doesn't make me autistic".

She replied, "why not hope for a step up, dad ?"

Yup, she's mine.

If vaccines are made mandatory then the politician forcing this on the citizenry should pay for them from their own money.

Well, I lived in Townsend, TN until I was 14, then moved to Knoxville...I went to a fairly good sized high school there...Played football, pole vaulted...Had a great time...Just never got sick other than a cold....

Later in life, my kids all three had chicken pox and only one had measles...I never caught anything...Just very lucky...

Shingles used to eat my wife up until she got the vaccination several years ago. Now, she will just have a very small flare up every now and then. No adverse problems otherwise.

"So now they are saying the first shot isn’t enough....?????"

My family doctor, who is also my endocrinologist recommended the new 2-shot vaccine, even though I had had the earlier one. I am diabetic, and have an underachieve thyroid, plus I have some other health issues. He told me that the new vaccine was more effective than the old one, and advised me to get it. He told me to contact my local pharmacy, and get my name on a list to get the first shot. Instead of calling, I went to CVS so I could get my name on the list, but they had a supply of the first vaccine, and gave it to me that day. I have to call CVS to make sure they have gotten the second vaccine in.
