“I have hired plenty of convicted felons over the years. I sure wouldn’t call any of them liberals”.

Thanks for the good insight.

I wonder what makes a felon vote republican?

They have lived under the thumb of the prison system and they hate the government meddling in their lives?

Its a LIE.

The FL senate has not passed on law regarding the felon amendment .

No one can registered until the rules governing who and when to reinstate their voting rights .

Why would this son of a huge felon say this ?

And lie so easily about it .

Not all convicted felons will bother to register to vote.

It is plausible that those who bother to register would be majority Republicans.

Whatever positive effect this law has on GOP registration in Florida will live and die with President Trump.

In ten years this law will have become a disaster for Republicans.

I wonder what percentage of them will actually go and vote.

I may be wrong, but it seems to me that most felons aren’t particularly thinking of civic duty. Their focus is elsewhere.

But, their votes might be susceptible to solicitation and harvesting.

They’re criminals, of course they’re overwhelmingly democrat. Not all criminals are democrats but all modern democrats are criminals.

It, whatever bill they do, won’t pass the FL Supreme Court.

The wording of the Amendment was explicit. They are wasting the taxpayer’s money and time.............

Worked for corrections 28 years. I thought many criminals had conservative views. Just didn’t want them applied to themselves.

Maine and Vermont allow ex-felons to vote without restrictions. Fourteen states and the District of Columbia automatically allow ex-felons to register to vote after being released from jail or prison.

Hawaii

Maryland

Montana

Ohio

Rhode Island

Illinois

Massachusetts

New Hampshire

Oregon

Utah

Indiana

Michigan

North Dakota

Pennsylvania

District of Columbia

Twenty-two states automatically allow ex-felons to register to vote after they have completed their entire sentence, including incarceration, probation, and parole.

Alaska

Connecticut

Kansas

New Jersey

Oklahoma

Washington

Arkansas

Florida

Louisiana

New Mexico

South Carolina

West Virginia

California

Georgia

Minnesota

New York

South Dakota

Colorado

Idaho

Missouri

North Carolina

Texas

That still leaves twelve states where ex-felons must wait well after their sentence is over to request restoration. Usually, defendants must either petition a court or request a pardon from the governor. Kentucky and Iowa have lifetime bans.

Alabama

Iowa

Nebraska

Virginia

Arizona

Kentucky

Nevada

Wisconsin

Delaware

Mississippi

"‘In Florida More Ex-Felons Register as Republicans than Democrats’"

One of the ballot box manipulation tricks of the Democrats is to register Republican for the primary to elect a conservative candidate that nobody wants, and then reregister to vote Democrat. What’s the law in Florida concerning this practice?

No, the wording was poor and vague.

It required the Fl senate rules.

The FL is now conservative .
