Bass Pro owns Cabelas, not Dick’s.
I believe the veteran’s discount is still in place. As a Bass Pro Shop salesman explained to me, Cabela’s offered a 10% veteran’s discount but Bass Pro Shop only offered 5%. After Bass Pro Shop purchased Cabela’s they dropped their discount to 5% also.
Not in Reno, they dropped it entirely. The 10% was nice as it covered the taxes—only used it for the few larger purchase I made from them. They get nothing from me now.
As a another poster said down thread, my wife bought a gun for me as a gift, but we are both legal to own a firearm.

I don’t know why you are spreading false information about them. You’re welcome to see them all the same if you wish, but it doesn’t make you look good to be spreading false information. I don’t believe you that they dropped it entirely in Reno. It is a universal policy across all their stores. Perhaps someone was misinformed.

I have generally found better pricing at Academy than Bass Pro and Cabela’s.
The last two times I was in Cabela’s they said they no longer had veteran discount. The one clerk expressed dislike at company changes since they were bought out. I might be wrong on the end result of policy changes at Bass Pro and Cabela’s—maybe they didn’t follow through with some changes. I don’t shop at either much, don’t really care.
No worries. If you go there again, maybe show them their website policies.
