I shot a ground squirrel (an alfalfa hay destroying evil creature) at 200 yards with a 17HMR. I did miss the first shot because the strong wind actually caused the bullet to rise in the downhill shot. Estimating point of impact I got it on the second round. Nobody called me a liar but they put it off as luck.

A bullet goes somewhere. That's why you have to be so damn careful with them. I threw a golfball out into the sand dunes once, a told the guy with me I was gonna fire three shots with the .22, starting with a hold in the crosshairs, and walk onto the target...about 150 yards. Third shot drilled it. I was a little bit surprised.

Nice shooting! There’s always an element of luck. I practise all the time. I got home yesterday and practised snap shooting with my m-14. Just a few rounds before dinner. I keep my shooting mat and rest and ear defenders by my south door.
