On one job they called in all the temps and told us that we were part of the "company cutbacks". I called all the agencies I was regestered with and told them I was available. That evening one called me and asked if I would be willing to go back to that job and company. They had just gotten the contract. I said yes and was there another seven months until the project was launched.
The security guard did a double take when I walked back in with my new badge the next day. :)

Yep.
I have on occasion seen contractors get a different job with the same corporate client after being laid off like that. As long as they can get it set up without any break, they usually don’t have to do any of the background or drug checks either.
Definitely don’t want to burn bridges.
