Well, I was not going to go around looking for a sales associate to unlock a case for me just so I could buy some overpriced razors. So what I did instead was go online and join one of those "dollar shave" clubs and never looked back. Now every couple months or so, I get razors and shaving cream in the mail. Never bought a razor in a store again. Never bought a Gillette product again either.
our walmart locks up all the oil of Olay products. there’s more expensive stuff left out on the shelves.
funny you wrote that. A few years ago I bought a cheap coffee maker for like $20 and as I exited Walmart the beeper went off. I showed my receipt and went on my way. When I got home and opened it it had about 100 5pks of quatro razor blades worth about $2000. I called Walmart but they seemed disinterested that they had a theft problem somewhere in their organization. So I told my son well then F them I’ll keep them and but another coffee maker.
Amen. DSC is the bomb IMO. My razor handle broke last year. Called ‘em about it and they experss mailed me 2 more for free. Excelent customer service!

Your experience is exactly why I joined Dollar Shave Club and also haven’t looked back.
Even if they weren’t locked up I was still thinking of it before that.
$20 for 4 replacement razors? When I can get 5 for $9 online? No thanks.
And to answer your question directly it’s as others have already said: rampant shoplifting of these overpriced items. That’s why things like razor blades and sonic toothbrush heads are getting locked up.
Now the baby formula I don’t get that one. Really. I mean why are people shoplifting that stuff when one can just get an EBT card to get them for “free”? I mean talk about the height of laziness can’t even be bothered with the paperwork to get an EBT card, would rather steal the product instead.
Or is there such a black market for baby formula that one can get it for oneself with an EBT and still make enough risking a shoplifting charge? If so, it is definitely overpriced itself. Just use what God provides for baby if it’s come to that level of expense. Sheesh.
