The Federal Election Commission (FEC) has slapped a super PAC that backed Jeb Bush for president with one of the biggest fines in the commission’s history for accepting a $1.3 million donation from a Chinese-owned company.

The super PAC, Right to Rise USA, has been ordered to pay $390,000 for accepting the donation from the company American Pacific International Capital, which is owned by Chinese nationals, according to a letter dated March 8. The letter is directed to a representative of the Campaign Legal Center, an organization that filed a complaint to the FEC after a 2016 report by The Intercept revealed that APIC’s foreign owners had donated to the super PAC.

“Today’s action is a rare and remarkable step by the FEC and a reminder that safeguarding our elections against foreign interference is in America’s vital national security interests,” Trevor Potter, president of the Campaign Legal Center, said in a statement Monday.

No the FEC needs to investigate the MAKE MEXICO DEL NORTE GREAT PAC, because they’re probably more guilty of trying to buy America for the Booshes than the Chinese.

OK. It is a $390,000 fine for accepting an illegal $1,300,000 donation. He still came out $910,000 ahead, didn't he?

And it helped him win all of three delegates, wasn't it?

How does a $390,000 fine deter anyone from taking a $1.3 million bribe?

Seems to me the fine is just a cost of doing business.

If only they had said they were out of the room a lot during the meeting relieving themselves because they drank a lot of iced tea, there would be no issue.

2008 - Obama for America (Barack Hussein Bin Soetoro)- FEC fine 375k paid in 2013

wow only 396K for a 1.3 million donation.

Just the cost of doing business.

Trump warned all about these corrupt PAC's, pay to play bull shit.

What this gets us is candidates taking bribes from foreign countries for cash and influence so they can game our system and eventually own us. Profits and power regardless of consequences.

And it's a yet another Bush open borders globalist.

Not a big enough fine. The fine should equal the illegal foreign donations.
