Conservative Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has been widely criticised for saying on International Womens Day that it is against his governments core values to support the advancement of women at the expense of men.
What he actually said was very mild and supportive of the advancement and empowerment of women. His mistake in the eyes of kneejerk critics was to remember that men count too.
See, were not about setting Australians against each other, trying to push some down to lift others up, he said. We want to see women rise. But we dont want to see women rise only on the basis of others doing worse."
ScoMo, as the PM is known, deserves praise for this. As soon as I read it I took out my credit card and paid to join his political party.
The both ridiculous and terrifying attack on Brett Kavanaghs character was just one example of how fairness for men is no longer something we can assume in western societies.
In healthy social orders there needs to be a balance between men and women and respect for those women who want to focus on motherhood not on career. Modern feminism does not respect mothers.
I believe Donald Trump is also a bulwark against the excesses of PC feminism. In America, the Democrats now look like tearing each other to pieces in a lunge to The Left which can only help POTUS. Or Joe Biden?
In Australia the opinion polls have been saying we look like getting a new Prime Minister in May who may trash the American relationship with his contempt for your president, who is already undermining border protection in parliament and whose political party is a danger to civic and democratic rights. https://freedom-demokrasi-and-civilised-humanity.com/2019/01/25/open-letter-to-bill-shorten-you-are-not-fit-to-lead-australia/
My hope is that standing up for a fair go for men and women will be a vote winner for ScoMo and save us from the disaster of a Shorten Government.
What do others think? Can the powerful modern forces against a healthy social order be overcome?
See, were not about setting Australians against each other, trying to push some down to lift others up, he said. We want to see women rise. But we dont want to see women rise only on the basis of others doing worse."
Anyone opposed to that is not looking for "equality," no matter how much they claim they are.
But we've all known that for decades, haven't we?
Radical feminism is toxic.
Gadzooks.
A man with cojones.
Kudos, Australia.
Besides the Trumpster and Vlad the Impaler, we’re alone in the world.
I am a woman and this focus on women makes me sick. I hated every minute of that redundant International Day of the Woman. Its a bunch of BS. Wheres the day for men? What about the other 57 genders, or however many the kooks think we have. Stop with the pandering.
Clever and witty.
