Here in Pasadena CA we are in the ‘Occupied Territories,’ and MUST bring our own bags to the grocery stores. My car is full of bags, looks like a homeless person lives there. I very much resent having government interference at that depth in my life. We go to visit our grandkids in NJ and get FREE plastic bags. It is like getting a Happy Meal with a toy in it.

I believe that if we can recycle and re-use it's worth it even if we just break even. There is just a lot of garbage in the world. A major problem is indeed that people are lazy.

In Marxist countries where laziness is built-in to the culture with guaranteed jobs and frozen salaries, pollution and garbage problems are monumental. We don't want to be like them.

The engineers of America (including human factors engineers) could solve the mechanical, chemical and human problems we have with recycling - if they put their minds to it.
