This is local politic crap. They always cut the Police and Fire Dept first. This way people feel the pain as opposed to trimming the boards and city council positions.

How are people “feeling pain” when the sheriff tells his constituents to lock and load and protect themselves?

Nothing new. My town does not have a police force it’s covered by State Troopers that when called take upwards of 20 to 30 minutes to respond.
