Its funny I know Freepers hate facts when they are on a roll but did anyone actually read any of what all actually happened or what it was what about?
The ignorance of Freepers who love to shoot their mouths off here is alarming
Three little facts
100 rally attendees ....led by two Confedrrate memorial preservation groups
50 counter rally attendees...organized by left wing academia from campus led by Kate Gluckman...a know social justice warrior radical whose from out of state
Eight players kneeled...less than half and they are already backpedaling a bit this being Mississippi
The rally was organized to counter a movie by a Bernie SJW group on campus..again Ms Gluckman an outsiders doing ....which is petitioning to remove any memorials on campus to the confederate dead which is pertinent given manynwho died locally had been school attendees and during the war it at times served as a hospital for both sides and many of those buildings still stand
Context is a beautiful thing
I admit while I belong to the SCV and Franklin battlefield heritage group Im unfamiliar with the two groups that marched in Oxford....pitifully they seemed insignificant....the old group under the black man Harvey who was killed mysteriously a few years ago between rallies and who was a fixture in Oxford had bigger rallies....he was an impressive man...i met him once and he enthralled my son with all his local Oxford history lore
There were blacks in support of the southern side in Oxford today...not a fact the media likes much
The leftist counter marches were mostly white kids...look like SJWs anywhere...
The irony within my heritage is that of the six men that fought the war, five Confederates were not slave owners and the one Union ancestor was a slave owner. That flies in the face of the mantra given by the Southern haters.
Context is a beautiful thing

A well-written post and very informative. Thanks for posting it.
Again, I recommend Booker T. Washington Address, as a demonstration of the mutual benefits of good will among self-respecting peoples. Contrast the mutually beneficial progress in racial good will between 1895 & 1930, with what has been happening in the age of Grievances & Grievance Mongers.
