First lawsuit against Trump wall declaration filed in Washington court

The first lawsuit was filed in federal district court in Washington, D.C., Friday evening challenging President Trump’s new emergency declaration to build his border wall.

Three Texas landowners and the Frontera Audubon Society in Texas asked a judge to halt any action Mr. Trump might take under the declaration, arguing that a fight with Congress over spending money doesn’t constitute an emergency under the 1970s-era National Emergencies Act.

Only Congress can halt a national emergency declaration.

Every 2 bit lefty organization that ever spelled ‘border’ will be filing suit.

They will all have to be adjudicated before anything remotely like ‘wall’ begins to be built.

Will literally take years.

Good point. I’d love for the courts to say that but they won’t. one lefty judge is all it takes.

All of this could have been avoided if funding for the wall had been done for the two years the GOP had control of both Houses of Congress (Ryan/McConnell fail).

It’s almost like they waited until they lost the house to use that as an excuse, right?

These people would sacrifice the lives of millions of Americans if it meant the political and personal destruction of Donald Trump. We all know it’s true.

A conservative friend mentioned that we could have a solid wall but the next Rat president will just open the gates. I’m afraid he’s right.

Should be filed in the 5th circuit.

And don’t fool yourself...many voters in this country are incredibly stupid. They will vote for their own destruction with the promise of a handout.

Yup.

Wall is useless at this point. It’s grandstanding.

Elections no longer matter either.

And we’ll have rat presidents for at least a hundred years now. I seriously look for calls for ‘land reform’ before the 2020’s are done.

They would not give him the money then either. There is only so much one man can do when fighting this type of entrenched corruption.

Then you expose the corruption. You don’t just give in to it and give up.

Make the GOP override the veto. Make them explain to the voters why they agree with the Democrats on open borders. There are a lot of fake conservatives in the GOP. There is only one way you are going to get rid of them. You have to expose them for what they are.

Trump said he was going to drain the swamp. Well, what has he drained? He’s done nothing but play along.

Have these landowners been notified that their land will be affected? Have they received a notice of eminent domain action? No and No? Show them what they win, Gary. It’s our home version of the Stop the Trump Game and some other great prizes.

Anyone have text of Declaration?

Only ones I find seem to cite wrong statute? Maybe typo. Maybe my mistake.

Anyone?
