Not to hijack the thread, but there IS a tremendous amount of quality new music in the world. I think old guys like me would prefer to whine and watch The Last Waltz instead of get off yer butt and spend $10 at a local bar and listen to 3-5 unsigned bands. Yea, a few of them will suck, but I guarantee you will hear one or two bands that renew your faith in the future of rock. Heck, maybe the young guns can have you pry $20 from your wallet and buy a shirt and a CD.
I get it: Maroon 5's halftime show was the pits and Taylor Swift and Katy Perry aren't Heart. But with a vast array of technology at their fingertips, and a work ethic that sometimes borders on manic (yes Virginia, there are Deplorable Millenials), kids today are cranking out low-cost but (sometimes) high-octane music that would make Pete Townshend smile.
At a minimum, buy a Sabaton album everyone.
