Serious question: What happens if RBG remains hospitalized or comatose going forward?

The only Ginsburg “appearance” since December was reported yesterday by David Hagedorn of the Washington Post in a tweet. Today Hagedorn has deleted the tweet and locked his account. There are many rumors that RBG is comatose or even dead. The question is: how do we treat the future SCOTUS “votes” or “opinions” from RBG that for all we know are staff-written? What mechanism, if any, do we have for removing an incompetent USSC Justice?

How much longer can they keep her condition a secret?

Democrats and “progressives” believe in “perception management”, i.e., using the media to lie about stuff.

They will fake it for as long as they can get away with it.

Our job is to demand she make a public appearance.

Even if she is in poor health that is totally doable.

Otherwise we must presume she is either comatose or dead.

The more interesting question is—would they dare try replacing her with a body double?

Congress can impeach. It was tried once before, but the guy quit before they carried through with the removal.

This Congress of course would never impeach RBG... so we're stuck with her until the bitter end.

They hid McCain and his deteriorating condition for eight months, dutifully repeating the line that “he is in rehab and getting stronger” and “his friend met him recently and says he is keen to be back at work in the new year/next few weeks/next month/summertime”, until it was time to announce his passing.

So long as the body is alive, even if brain dead, she is a Justice. If she is comatose or brain dead she cannot resign and that is the only way she can be removed short off impeachment and the Democrats are not going to impeach her because they need her seat to remain occupied by RGB or her remains.

If she is incapable of communication by reading or listening, who, then, is writing her opinions? A law clerk? By whose direction? Is it a majority rule of clerks?

The scenario I’m concerned with is not really about her removal. As far as I’m concerned she can stay on life support indefinitely—it gives the conservatives a 5-3 advantage—but about the “decisions” she will make going forward. How are we supposed to accept Supreme Court decisions from someone who hasn’t been seen in public for months? Don’t we have the right to know if a Justice is actually making these rulings?

And just how are those decisions going to be denied? Her staff has probably been making and writing her decisions for a long time.

The more relevant question is: Do the Democrats plan to claim she continues to live for another two years in the hope that they can defeat Trump in 2020 and have her officially “die” then, so that a Democrat may replace her?

Sound ridiculous? They’re still doing the Russia Russia Russia thing aren’t they, pretending it’s real, too. They’re fully capable of pulling a Two Years at Ruthie’s act.

A hard deadline arrives on Tuesday, October 1, when oral arguments begin with the Court's new term. If Ginsburg can hold on and resign just before then, Democratic obstruction will make it unlikely that the Senate will vote on a nominee before the election year begins. Most likely, any replacement for Ginsburg would then be delayed until after the election and the next Presidential term.

In the meanwhile, with Ginsburg's health and ability to perform in doubt, there will be uncertainty, speculation, and rumor. Might Ginsburg resign before this fall? Can she be forced to resign?

The most plausible scenario is that once sworn in, William Barr, the new Attorney General might orchestrate press leaks and expressions of opinion that stir the issue. If Ginsburg suffers enough pressure and menace to her reputation, she just might resign within the next few months. Or maybe nature will take its course.

We should administer the papal death test and tap her on the head 3 times with a silver hammer uttering her baptismal name:"Lilith", "Lilith"..."LILITH!"

Perhaps she’s stunned. Or pining for the fjords. Here’s a preview of the next two years.

Exactly!

It would, of course, be preferable to get a dyed-in-the-wool Constitutionalist in there to replace her - but as long as there is one less "Progressive" (i.e., Revisionist) in there, we Conservatives should be content.

Regards,

Trump could force the RATs to wheel her corpse out by simply tweeting his nomination for her replacement...

I also happen to think Trump knows precisely what is going on with RBG, and has probably put her family on notice to make an official announcement.

When does their new session begin ?

Keep her in office until January 2020....then demand Trump wait to replace her until after the election in November (Garland move) so they can make the campaign about her replacement.
