I said yesterday he needs to ban all of congress from govt planes.
Today he does just that.
No flights without WH explicit permission.
“Under no circumstances during a government shutdown will any government owned, rented, leased or chartered aircraft support any Congressional delegation, without the express written approval of the White House Chief of Staff,” wrote Russell Vought, acting director of the Office of Management and Budget.
“Nor will any funds appropriated to the Executive Branch be used for any Congressional delegation travel expenses, without his express written approval, Voughts memo said.
My prediction is that he starts to lay off Government workers at the 30 day point. Hopefully RAT leadership since any furloughed employee at the 30 day point needs no reason to be let go .
And I want to know when he's going to open that "full-scale probe into Feinsteins handling of the Blasey-Ford allegations" that he promised last September 30th.
Another neat thought occurs to me. If this goes on long enough perhaps even Federal judges may end up getting furloughed. Imagine tossing out all those RAT judges who have been turning the law into nothing more than a sick joke merely to oppose Trump. Sweet revenge served cold! Imagine how angry Nanzi’s base will get that she allowed this to happen!
I was wondering about federal judges too.
Judges would have to be impeached. By congress.
That should be talked about. Since it practically never happens. How many federal judges have ever been impeached? Maybe a half dozen or so in 200 years? It should be several every year, I’d think, judging (heh) from the jiggery-pokery rulings of the last 50
If I were ever elected to congress, one of my prime concerns would be impeaching judicial tyrants. And I’m a New Yorker like Trump, I wouldn’t couch it in nice, politically-correct terms either.
that would be just brilliant
Congress could a gazillion things, if they wanted. The list is almost endless. They never do “anything” from the standpoint of stopping a creeping totalitarian police state. Look at what’s happening with the big Tech giants. Guess where they get a crapton of money from? So, we get to live in the digital panopticon.
They can actually get rid of people without firing, if they really want. They have to attach it to another piece of legislation, I guess, but they can reduce an individual or individuals salary to say, $1 a day or whatever. By legislation right? Now it’s really tough or impossible to fire a crappy letter carrier or whatever, but nobody is going to work for $1 a day. Stuff like that.
There are jail cells in the basement of the Capitol. They must be there for some reason. Wonder what it could be? If I had to bet, it’s for those in contempt of congress, something like that? Nobody seems too worried about that today. “Sorry, can’t make it today Senator, gotta clean my so k drawer.” So they are for ceremonial display purposes only. Congress that is. Really sad. A very high percentage of the problems facing our nation are just not being addressed in any meaningful way, because politically it’s easier to do the wrong thing.
As true about Trump as Lincoln said about Grant, "this man fights."
There can be no doubt that Congress has so many privileges that they abuse and that they have become out of touch with their constituents, aided and abetted by having the luxury to become entirely consumed by petty concerns. They need to be grounded in the traditional sense.
There has to be a disagreement in respect to adjournment or convening between the House and the Senate to do that.
But your right, If that happens he can adjourn them or convene them as long as he can see fit.
He can commission people to carry out the laws that are on the books until he brings them back-which has to be once a year per the constitution. So, they’ve been in session this year, he could adjourn them till late next year. Just cant pass laws.
Federal judges, under the Constitution, can only be removed by impeachment, AND their compensation can not be reduced. So their being paid is not subject to congressional budgeting.
“And I want to know when he’s going to open that “full-scale probe into Feinsteins handling of the Blasey-Ford allegations” that he promised last September 30th. “
Start the investigation as soon as Trump announces RBG’s replacement...
Force them to the table, order Krispy Kremes we are gonna be here a while.
Oh noes! They might shut down AOCs snow cone machine.
