In February 1992, less than three months into his first stint as the federal government’s top lawyer, Attorney General William Barr told a gathering of more than 100 law enforcement officials in San Diego that under his leadership, the U.S. Department of Justice would finally solve the looming immigration crisis at the border.
Barr’s proposed solution was, in its way, decades ahead of its time: the construction of a heavily armored steel fence along the U.S.-Mexico border immediately south of San Diego, complete with lighting, motion sensors, and the addition of hundreds of Border Patrol agents.
So convinced was Barr that the 14-mile fence was all that was needed to slow the stream of undocumented immigrants entering the country into a trickle that, two weeks after its announcement, he told PBS NewsHour that presidential candidate Pat Buchanan’s proposal to erect a barrier along the entire U.S.-Mexico border amounted to a hat on a hat.
“I don’t think it’s necessary,” Barr told Jim Lehrer. “I think that’s overkill to put a barrier from one side of the border to the other… Illegal immigrants do not cross in the middle of the desert and walk hundreds of miles to the nearest city.”

That’s why I put the quotation marks around “walking”.
Of course, this was over a quarter of a century ago, and traffic patterns were different then.
Half the traffic came through San Diego then, but the Rio Grande Valley now. Cartel control in Mexico is dramatically greater now, and human trafficking of illegal immigrants is much more organized - Leftist organizations and hostile Governments play active roles now as well.
That was before 9-11 - the threat of terrorist infiltration by suicidal extremists undeterable by potential counter-strikes, is now a real concern.
The problem today requires a bigger response. Barr is a smart guy, who will work off current intel. The real question is his character and commitment. As a prominent New Yorker, Donald Trump may have known him for some time.
You are CORRECT.
Times have changed and that is exactly what they do.
He was very prescient and didn’t even know it.
You do not get in deeper into the Deep State than Barr. He is an evil and corrupt man. He takes orders from a higher power, Satan or his underlings.
I don’t know who vets these people. IMO, Trump either is running a prolonged Carnival act to fool people, is a bumbling fool, or he is complicit in the perpetuation of the corruption.
Barr was neck deep in the gun running/cocaine dealing crap with Ollie North, GHW Bush, and Bill Clinton.

was not uncommon to see 10/12 illegals
during the day, walking north in the
middle of nowhere, in southern New Mexico.
They would break into the drilling rigs
looking for food/water/shelter at night.
They cross anywhere along the border.
If there is no COMPLETE ironclad, fully funded Wall with adherence to the previous immigration laws plus expelling current ILLEGALS and DACA spawn, the President will not be re-elected and the Republic can kiss it’s rear goodbye.

Sadly, yes. They have their own thread too ... And they frequently make stupid comments about people that aren’t brainwashed like them :-). I feel for them ... When nothing comes to fruition, I wonder what they’ll do.
What always happens when people find out they have been lied to on a spectacular level. They get angry and act out, or they never vote or trust a politician ever again. This is where the 60% of those who never vote come in. Not only will the Republican brand be forever sullied, those voters will disappear by the millions.
Good points ... But the whole Q thing is a lie by people with too much time on their hands. If people think Q = Trump, they need to be reminded that Q is no different than, say, edh making claims about the future. Taking Q failures out on Trump would be borderline idiotic.
