So in those districts where the “problem republican” retired, they still stayed home? Where they had a fresh face, for the most part a Trump equal or to the right of Trump and they still stayed home? Can you give me examples?

Our unfunded liabilities are at an incredible $122 TRILLION! That represents a liability PER TAXPAYER of $997,000. Simply unpayable.

Its so out-of-control that nobody in Washington wants to talk about it. I agree that we will try to print our way out of this mess (and suffer hyperinflation) but its also possible that the government could be forced to sell off some big assets in the future.

This congress will only hasten our “progress” toward national economic disaster.

If you consider candidates that Trump stumped for as equal or to the right of him, yes there are a number of examples of Republicans for both House and Senate who lost to Democrats. The list is longer than you may think if you care to look up the facts. If not, I’ll list them for you.

I’ve seen that in the past. The republican voters, with the exception of swings which are fewer and fewer, are pretty much rigid in their voting for an R now. Most would never knowingly voted for a D these days. Especially some of the crop that was on the ballot and won.

The GOP ran Congress was not leading in any area, nor were they following Trump, they were just there and an obstacle to Trump even though they wore the same jerseys. When you offer no clear choice the GOP loses.

an you give an example of where republican turnout was less in 18 than it was in 14, the last mid-term, allowing the dem to win?

The Republicans lost because “their refusal to enact the agenda endorsed by the American people in the 2016 election”

Correct.

yet the people elected new members who would be even more likely to NOT implement that agenda? I don’t think so

You are missing the point. Elections are about enthusiasm gaps. You got to fire up your base. Yes, Democrats were all fired up, but GOP enthusiasm was way down before Kavanaugh, because Paul Ryan kept stabbing conservatives in the back time after time including
pulling anti Trump anti conservative sh*t like his pork ladden, budget bursting “CRomnibus” which had money for everything under the sun apart from the border wall.

Read this:

Check out section 230 on page 673 of the #omnibus for Trump's “wall funding.” It's not a wall. It's repairs, drones and pedestrian fencing - no construction. It also expressly prohibits funding for all of Trump's wall prototypes. Fake wall, folks.

Here is what the “wall” money will be spent on. Note, no new construction. Mostly pedestrian fencing, drones, repairs and “planning.”

True, but with creeps like Romney and McCain and a Paul Ryan House of Reps, they either hold their nose to vote Republican, or stay home.

Well he and his surrogates aren't framing it as repairs, drones etc. Why?

I'm sure you can find a district or two that changed hands because few republicans voted than in 14. But certainly not the majority of the 40 that changed hands.
